Our Editorial Team Reveals Their Current Guilty Pleasures

Let’s admit it: we all have a guilty pleasure show, app, or podcast. Here at Team LC, we have quite a few that have manifested into almost full-on obsessions. As much as we’d like to put our books down, stop watching videos from that one account, or turn off the television, sometimes, we really can’t help it. We’re revealing our current guilty pleasures today, and hope that you might love some of these as much as we do! Keep reading for our full list…

“My guilty pleasure right now is Big Brother. There are 3 episodes a week so it’s a big commitment, but I look forward to it every year.” – Lauren, Editor-in-Chief

“I jumped on the Love Island UK train during lockdown last year and I’ve been hooked ever since… I’m not kidding when I say I have seen nearly *every single season* from UK, to Australia, to the U.S. I’m a sucker for a good reality dating show, especially when it requires me to learn an entirely new vocabulary to keep up with what the contestants are talking about—if you know, you know.” – Tessa, Associate Editor

“The Manifest craze is real. The concept of people disappearing from the world on a missing flight only to show up 5 years later with no explanation, and having those people not even know they disappeared—well, I just had to know what happened. And now I’m hooked, so thank you very much Manifest.” – Rachel, Managing Editor

“I can’t stop watching My Unorthodox Life, which follows Julia Haart, the Elite World Group CEO, her family, and their everyday lives. If you’re not sure what to start watching tonight, try watching one of these episodes. They’re so good! – Rachel, Managing Editor

“I am a scaredy-cat when it comes to most things, but even after a year+ of binging this podcast, I still can’t get enough! Listening to Nat & Aly is like hanging out with two friends just talking about spooky stories. I love their open-minded attitudes, how well-researched each episode is, and they constantly have me laughing out loud.” – Tessa, Junior Editor

“I’m a sucker for historical romance movies and TV shows, so it’s only natural that I consider Outlander to be one of my biggest guilty pleasures. If you haven’t jumped on the Outlander band wagon, now is the perfect time! The latest book in the series comes out in November followed by a new season on STARZ in early 2022…just saying.” – Jessi, Senior Editor

“I randomly came across this account on Tiktok, and truly, I am obsessed. @Kaelimaee has videos that range from restocking her mini fridge or skincare drawers to cleaning her bathroom or car. You might ask, ‘why are you so obsessed with this?’ Well, the ASMR and organization of it all is simply… so satisfying. Once you start watching her videos, you really might not be able to stop.” – Kyrena, Editorial Assistant

“I blame one of my friends for turning me on to the paint by number apps, but sometimes it’s a nice way to take a break from all of the noise going on around me. I find apps like these particularly calming when I’m having travel anxiety too!” – Jessi, Senior Editor

“Break out your tissue boxes! Everything about this TV show on Netflix screams cheesy, but I absolutely love it. I’ve even roped my husband into watching it with me…” – Tessa, Junior Editor

“I don’t even know if I consider this show a guilty pleasure, but I just had to share it with you because it’s SO good. There are feuding sisters, a love triangle, and a little bit of catfishing. It’ll make you laugh, swoon, even cry, and generally put you all in your feels, so go ahead and put the first episode on. You’ll understand once you see it.” – Kyrena, Editorial Assistant
