Beauty DIY: LC Lauren Conrad Inspired Nail Art with Olive & June
With a new LC Lauren Conrad collection full of vibrant patterns fit for spring, it’s only natural we’d want to coordinate our manicures accordingly. Lucky for us, our friends at Olive & June know how to take a bit of inspiration and spin it into beautiful works of art right on our fingernails. We’re excited to unveil the two custom DIY manicures that they put together for us inspired by the prints from the April LC Lauren Conrad collection. Not only did they hand-paint the chicest designs, but they even let us test out a brand new Olive & June product that just hit their salon: nail stickers! Trust us when we say that you don’t want to miss out on these two LC Lauren Conrad-inspired manicure tutorials. Keep scrolling to see what we came up with!
DIY Plaid Inspired Nail Art
Our first manicure was inspired by the “marshmallow plaid” print now available in an array of blouse options in Lauren’s latest Kohl’s collection. Instead of simply recreating the pattern, our nail technician at Olive & June combined pinks and golds to give us an abstract and totally adorable manicure. Here’s what she did…
Here’s what you’ll need:
- a base and top coat
- nude or blush pink nail polish
- dark pink nail polish
- gold nail polish
- a small paintbrush
Instructions:
1. Begin by painting each nail with a base coat followed by a nude or blush pink nail polish. We used Deborah Lippmann Gel Lab Pro Nail Color in Baby Love.
2. After deciding which accent nails you want to paint the designs on, use the small paintbrush and paint horizontal and diagonal lines in dark pink nail polish.
3. With the gold nail polish, paint lines parallel to the dark pink ones that you just painted.
4. Let the designs dry completely before adding a top coat.

DIY Butterfly and Dandelion Inspired Nail Art
Our second manicure was inspired by the spring appropriate “marshmallow butterfly” pattern available in the latest LC Lauren Conrad collection. We couldn’t decide which one was sweeter, the butterflies or speckled dandelions…so we put both on one of our editor’s nails! It just so happens that Olive & Junes new nail stickers have the perfect butterfly for this particular mani.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- a base and top coat
- light pink (almost white) nail polish
- blush pink nail polish
- dark pink nail polish
- black nail polish
- mint green nail polish
- Olive & June stickers
- a small paintbrush
- a dotting pen
Instructions:
1. Begin by painting a base coat on each nail, followed by the lightest (almost white) shade of pink. We used Essie Gel Couture Nail Polish in Pre-Show Jitters.
2. Pick which accent nails you want to add the butterfly stickers to. The best way to apply the Olive & June nail stickers is to gently press them onto the desired nails with a dotting pen. This tool is usually used to create nail art, but it worked perfectly for applying pressure to the stickers.
3. Now it’s time to paint on the dandelion. Our nail technician used the print for direct reference, beginning by painting on the stem with CND Shellac UV Color Coat in Rose Bud.
4. Next, outline the stem with black nail polish, giving it more dimension.
5. To create the dandelion petals, use your small paintbrush and paint tiny mint and light pink dots around the stem.
6. Finish your manicure off with a top coat, and you’re good to go!
