Hi, ladies, it’s Anna again from Fash Boulevard bringing you my latest Style Guide. It’s no secret that cool temperatures and velvet are synonymous with each other, but this year you can expect to see this fancy fabric in a rainbow of bold hues. Brightly colored velvet dominated the Fall 2017 NYFW with top designers like Jason Wu, Christian Siriano, and Erin Fetherston all sending the gleaming fabric down the runway. If you’re looking to dress up your favorite pair of jeans, try incorporating a velvet top in a fun fall color like mustard. I’m a huge fan of contrasting materials and pairing this luxurious fabric with denim is an easy way to elevate your fall ensemble. When it comes to office attire, try jazzing up your work wardrobe with a velvet pencil skirt.
The best thing about this fabric is that it virtually hides any and all wrinkles, so you’re free to sit and stand on repeat without concern. If you’re feeling a little velvet wary, start small with a velvet choker or a punchy clutch. These bright colored velvets are set to stick around throughout winter, but be mindful with your purchases. Velvet rarely transcends seasons, so consider more affordable pieces from fast fashion retailers. If you’re looking to splurge on pricier items, stick with a traditional color like burgundy, in classic styles such as blazers and dresses. Below, I’m sharing three ways I styled my latest colored velvet pieces for fall.
