Tuesday Ten: October Style Tips

Say hello to our first full-fledged autumn inspired Style Tips of the year. Last month was all about transitional styles that can easily be worn between seasons, but now it’s safe to say that I’m all about fall everything. Cable knit sweaters, trench coats and boots are taking center stage among pumpkin patches and fall festivals. So, whether you’re looking for the perfect outfit to frolic through apple orchards or need a seasonal approach to office attire, this list of ensembles covers a wide range of occasions. Keep scrolling to see an autumn-inspired batch of my monthly Style Tips and prepare to get inspired when it comes to dressing for the season.

1. A festive foot forward.
I can’t think of a better outfit to start off this month’s Style Tips. Julia of Gal Meets Glam is the picture of autumn perfection in her plaid coat and leather loafers.

2. Be in-vest-ed in the season.
Looking for a simple way to wear the best that this season has to offer? Layer a cozy vest over your favorite cable knit sweater. Erica of Erie Nick knows what I’m talking about in this apple picking ready ensemble.

3. Less is more.
Sometimes the best outfits are the simplest. Grace of The Stripe is donning a warm sweater and distressed jeans, an outfit that I’ll be sure to mimic over and over again this season.

4. Take a tip from the newsboy.
There’s no doubt that this season’s coolest accessory is the newsboy cap. Taylor of Little Blonde Book topped off an already incredible outfit with the coveted hat.

orange for fall via A Styled Love Affair

5. Orange you glad…
Orange has to be one of the most underrated colors. I love how Nicole of A Styled Love Affair was bold enough to wear the hot hue and paired it with a chic plaid skirt to boot. If you’re still intimidated, opt for a more rusty shade.

6. Women’s wear.
Structured blazers and trousers aren’t just reserved for menswear. Step out in your tailored best with an outfit like this one. Talisa of Badlands means business in her ruffled blouse and blazer combination.

colorblock done right via Millennielle

9. A chip off the old color block.
This is a step away from my usual color palette, but I love it just the same. A color block sweater is bound to add interest to any outfit, and Coco of Millennielle knows just how to style it. Try out a skinny pair of faux leather leggings and your favorite heeled ankle booties.
