Thank you to one of our favorite bra brands, ThirdLove, for sponsoring this post! All thoughts and opinions are our own.

There’s been quite the baby boom as of late, with so many of our friends (and team members) welcoming little ones into this world! One thing that we’ve heard from so many of our new mama friends is that they were surprised at how they had to rework their wardrobes to accommodate nursing or pumping for their babies. Most jumpsuits and dresses are suddenly completely impractical, as are tighter tops without any stretch. And before you even get to the actual outfit, you need a whole new set of nursing bras to replace your usual underpinnings!

nursing friendly fashion with ThirdLove

The stereotype around nursing bras is that they’re unattractive and harder to get a good fit since your boobs can fluctuate in size even within the same day. That’s why we were pretty excited when ThirdLove offered to let the nursing mamas on our team try out their brand new line of nursing bras. All of our editors have been wearing ThirdLove bras for a while now, and they’re known to be a wardrobe staple around our office. ThirdLove is known for things like their half-cup sizes, ‘accordion’ style straps that don’t slip or dig into your shoulder, and lightweight memory foam cups. Altogether, those things make for the best fitting bras we’ve ever worn.

After a week of wearing them, we’re proud to report that ThirdLove’s new nursing bras are every bit as chic, comfortable, and supportive as the rest of the line. No gaping or too-tight cups, no slipping or digging straps… it’s pretty amazing! The ThirdLove nursing bras are similar in style to the brand’s classic T-shirt bras that we already knew and loved, but with easy-open cups and a front-closure for easy access. They are also available with or without underwire, to suit every mama’s preference.

Since we’ve now found the perfect foundation for any nursing mama’s wardrobe, we had our editor Ilana (and her three-month-old, Arlo) model a few chic nursing-friendly outfits to wear with her new ThirdLove underpinnings. Check the style guide out below…

The Matching Set

Since jumpsuits typically aren’t nursing friendly, we love this matching top and trouser set, from Lauren’s Paper Crown line. It gives you the look of a jumpsuit that you can still nurse in! Ilana paired this outfit with the ThirdLove 24/7 Classic Nursing Bra in black for all day comfort and the support of underwire, in a classic dark hue that doesn’t show stains.

Button-down dresses are a staple in any nursing mama’s wardrobe since most other dresses are pretty impossible to nurse in (at least without lifting your entire dress up, which doesn’t exactly fly in public!). This adorable bobby pin-printed frock is another Paper Crown piece that Lauren designed. It’s easy to layer a cardigan over and pair with tights and boots as the weather starts to cool down. The foundation of this outfit is the ThirdLove 24/7 Classic Wireless Nursing Bra in Nude, which is beyond comfortable and doesn’t even show under this semi-sheer material.

The Statement Scarf

Lauren just released a new collection of cozy scarves and ponchos with her LC Lauren Conrad line. Especially if you’re a bit timid about nursing in public, having a few statement scarves in your wardrobe will make things a whole lot easier. A scarf or poncho not only serves as a perfect makeshift nursing cover, but it also turns a simple jeans and T-shirt into something more stylish. The ThirdLove 24/7 Classic Wireless Nursing Bra in Soft-Pink was perfect for Ilana under this paper-thin tee.
