Today Selena from @finduslost, is back with a brand new travel installment. This time she is sharing a travel diary from her trip to the quaint, winter wonderland town of Brașov, Romania. Check out all the photos and tips below (featuring the stunning Paper Crown Salinas Coat)…
Hi everyone! Selena from @finduslost here. You might know me already from my last post on the beautiful city of Budapest, Hungary. Visiting Budapest inspired me to explore more of Eastern Europe, so my fiancé and I recently booked a trip to visit the Transylvania region of Romania!
For our first day in Romania, we arrived in Bucharest and headed straight for the city of Brașov in Transylvania. In February, Brașov is transformed into a winter wonderland with layers of fresh snow dotting the rooftops of pastel-colored buildings around the square. We stayed just up the hill from Brașov at the Teleferic Grand Hotel, which sits amongst a small ski town, Poiana Brașov, and several surrounding hotels that draw small crowds during ski season.
The best part of being just above Brașov was waking up to the forest views right outside our window. On our first morning (right after fresh snowfall the day before) we peeked outside in the early morning to see groups of skiers heading out for the day. By the time we went down for breakfast, we had the place to ourselves! We were quick to fall into a morning routine of leisurely breakfasts before setting out to explore the beautiful landscapes and nearby towns of Transylvania. One of my favorite evenings was spent taking a horse-drawn carriage ride just before sunset, and then driving down the road just in time to see a pink sky over Brașov. Check out the photos from this getaway below…
Our whole experience in Romania was magical, and staying in Brașov was definitely the highlight of our trip! I’d recommend it to anyone who enjoys visiting the lesser-known towns of Europe.
Thank you, Selena from @finduslost for sharing your magical winter getaway with us!
