Paper Crown Karoo Top, $148 & Paper Crown Namib Shorts, $165
There’s something I love about pairing bold pieces together to show my personality on any given day. Whether I’m happy about beautiful weather on a Saturday afternoon, or celebrating a friend’s birthday, using color and mixing prints is one of the best ways to make your wardrobe reflect your mood. I have to admit that dresses are my go-to on most occasions. But lately, the more I’ve incorporated statement separates into my wardrobe, I’ve realized just how many ways I can mix and match these pieces with other items already in my closet.
With the matching set trend on the rise, wearing separates has never been easier. When designing my Spring collection for Paper Crown I wanted to make sure we offered a variety of separates in different fabrications that lend themselves well to making a matching set or print mixing. Keep reading to see some of my favorite matching sets and mixed prints of this season…
What’s black and white and polka dotted all over? This sophisticated House of Harlow set, that will never go out of style. I love how the top is off the shoulder with a subtle ruffle.
My favorite part about this separates combo is that it looks like one jumpsuit instead of a shirt and pants combo. Plus, the supple fabric is so comfortable that you’ll feel like you’re wearing loungewear in this polished, monochromatic look.
Easy, breezy and effortless, this skirt and tank top set from Faithfull The Brand was made for the spring and summer season. Style these separates with neutral sandals or wedges and a pair of chic sunnies.
In case you couldn’t already tell, I have a thing for stripes this season. These two separates from my Spring Paper Crown collection come together to make one of my favorite statement separates look. Simply add a neutral handbag and some cute flats and you’re good to go.
What textures go better together than cashmere and silk? This floral combo is the perfect transitional look from winter to spring, and looks great worn with booties, sandals or even sneakers.
Spending the day running errands, having lunch and doing a little shopping around town? This Paper Crown outfit has your name all over it. I love how the red poppy print in the top ties in with the red stripes in our Namib shorts. This mixed and matched set comes together to feel perfectly cohesive.
These separates were made for island life. Mara Hoffman always nails it when it comes to vacation pieces, and this crop top and pants combo is no different. Piña colada not included!
These bold poppy-printed separates make for a show-stopping look when paired together. This outfit, with it’s feminine lines and flowy silhouette, is no doubt one of my favorites from my spring 2017 Paper Crown collection.
Talk about a statement… This striking set from Dodo Bar Or will have heads turning on your next tropical vacay. I love the pairing of the cropped halter top with the long, high-waisted skirt because it balances out the proportions. And the tassel and embroidered details make it a special set.
When life gives you lemons… Why not wear them? This fresh and bright set screams warm weather to me, and I love the ruffle detail on the skirt and bow-tie on the top.
How will you wear the statement separates trend this spring?
