Lauren Conrad's favorite transitional outerwear pieces

We’ve been experiencing some unusually cold and rainy weather here in Southern California lately. This might sound like a bad thing for someone used to year-round sunshine, but from a fashion perspective, I’m certainly not complaining! You see, cold weather means I finally have an excuse to break out all the cozy coats and jackets in my closet. And with spring on the horizon, I’m especially excited to incorporate transitional outerwear into my wardrobe. From pastel pieces to classic trenches, these lightweight coats and jackets are some of my favorite pieces to style. Over jeans or over dresses, you really can’t go wrong with chic spring outerwear. Below are a few pieces I’ve seen lately that are really tempting me to click ‘add to cart’ (including a few picks from my own Paper Crown collection). Check them out and let me know what you think!

Paper Crown Salinas Coat

1. Paper Crown Salinas Coat, $381
This Salinas Coat was one of my favorite pieces from my latest Paper Crown collection. There’s nothing as pretty as a pastel coat in my opinion. I personally think it’s still acceptable to wear pastels in the dead of winter, but in spring there’s no doubt about it.

Anthropologie Edmond Trench

2. Anthropologie Edmond Trench, $168
I simply adore this trench with a twist. A trench is a classic spring coat you can’t go wrong with, and the pleated details on this one are right up my alley.

Paper Crown Rio Grande Coat

3. Paper Crown Rio Grande Coat, $326
I love the soft blush hue and fringed fabric on this soft and cozy layering piece. It’s one piece that you won’t regret adding to your wardrobe.

Club Monaco jacket

4. Club Monaco Carllye Jacket, $169
This ruffled jacket just screams springtime, don’t you think? Paired with a dress or pants, it’s sure to make a statement.

LC Lauren Conrad Embroidered Jean Jacket

5. LC Lauren Conrad Embroidered Jean Jacket, $64
Every girl needs a cute denim jacket in her winter-to-spring wardrobe. The embroidery on this jacket from my LC Lauren Conrad line adds a playful touch that’s right on trend.

Paper Crown bomber jacket

6. Paper Crown Powell Bomber Jacket, $340
As we get into the warmer months, I’ll be trading in my coats for shorter styles like this bomber, which is adorned in the same sunset hues as the Salinas Coat above.

Sea Combo Eyelet Jacket

7. Sea Combo Eyelet Jacket, $645
The eyelet details on this jacket are to sweet for words. It’s definitely a big splurge, but I know I’d wear it with everything in my wardrobe.

Paper Crown Cortez Vest

8. Paper Crown Cortez Vest, $298
When it’s a bit too warm for a full coat but too cold to go sans outerwear, a vest offers the perfect solution. This ladylike long-line vest is designed to be styled with dresses too, which makes it a versatile piece to add to your wardrobe.

Who What Wear oversized cardigan

9. Who What Wear Oversized Cardigan Sweater, $40
I’m a fan of Who What Wear’s new clothing line with Target, and this camel-colored cardigan is something I’d definitely get a lot of wear out of over the coming months.

Forever21 Satin Longline Jacket

10. Forever21 Satin Longline Jacket, $42
This pretty pink colored coat immediately caught my eye. And would you ever guess it’s from Forever21? At $42, it’s a steal of a deal.

Which one of these transitional pieces is your favorite?

Let me know in the comments!
