One of the many beautiful things about having an all-female office is the abundance of advice when it comes to beauty, fashion, life and everything in between. Even the most mundane topics turn into hilarious stories of trial and error. Here at Team LC, we’ve all admitted to the fashion and beauty faux pas we’ve fallen for over the years. If you’re looking to update your hair routine or try out something new, the following ten products are tried and true to their reviews. Keep scrolling to see what we’re currently obsessing over…
This is the one product I absolutely can’t live without! My friend and hairstylist Kristin Ess recommended it to me years ago, and I’ve used it on a daily basis ever since. Every time I take a shower I spritz this through my wet hair before I blow dry (or air dry), and it leaves my hair feeling soft and smooth after I style it. It also smells incredible, and gives my hair the silkiest texture ever. – Rachel, Managing Editor
2. Wet Brush, $8.99
Even though my blonde, color-treated hair is naturally bone-straight, it can get really tangly after sudsing up with shampoo in the shower. So, The Wet Brush is a lifesaver! It’s almost magical how easily it glides through my hair and detangles. Plus, my hair stylist even told me that it’s a requirement to use one because it will prevent breakage, split ends, and weakening of the hair follicles. – Allison, Managing Editor
I’m a hair oil fanatic. I never blow-dry my locks without working some hair oil into my tresses first. It’s the secret to a smooth, sleek blow-out. I’ve tried a few hair oils that I like, but tend to stick with this one from Shu Uemura because it smells divine, like a fine perfume for your hair. – Ilana, Managing Editor
4. Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray, $44
Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray is on the pricier side, but it will totally transform your hair when you use it. It adds volume, texture, and gives your tresses that perfect tousled look. I use it when my hair is feeling a little flat, or if I’m going out for a night on the town and I want my waves to have some extra volume. Also, it smells amazing. – Lauren Conrad, Editor-in-Chief
If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s to always protect your locks before you turn up the heat! This Kenra Thermal Styling Spray has saved my hair from my incessant curling iron and straightener usage. Do yourself a favor and coat your hair with this product before using your favorite hot tools. – Jessi, Associate Editor
6. Living Proof Restore Shampoo, $59
Kristin Ess told me to use this product a few years ago, and it’s been a part of my regular hair care routine ever since. It keeps my colored hair strong, smooth, and smelling delicious. Even when I travel I make sure to bring a small bottle of this shampoo with me… because when I don’t use it, my hair doesn’t feel as soft. – Rachel, Managing Editor
7. Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo, $23
For all of you working girls who have to run from your morning workout class to meetings at work to after-work events, this stuff is a must-have. And many of you have probably already tried and loved it! Drybar’s dry shampoo is really lightweight, soaks up any oils and impurities, and smells wonderful. It’s perfect for that next day hair that needs a little on-the-go fluffing! – Allison, Managing Editor
8. Davines Alchemic Rouge Conditioner, $29.90
Lauren turned me onto this product and I’ve been having a lot of fun with it lately! This conditioner is actually intended to keep red hair color from fading, but for us blondes it acts as a temporary pink dye. I use it just on the tips of my mane when I feel like adding a playful pastel hue that will fade in just a couple washes. – Ilana, Managing Editor
This is the newest addition to my collection of hair products and I’m OBSESSED. It smells beyond good, and I like that it gives you just the right amount of texture. I usually hate texture sprays because they make your hair feel too gritty or dirty, but this one is just light enough to hold a little bit of texture and messiness so I look like a “cool girl.” – Tessa, Editorial Assistant
10. Redken Extreme Anti-Snap Leave-In Fortifier, $13.50
There’s nothing worse than brushing your hair and seeing all of those lovely dry ends snap off all over the place. Ever since I started using the Redken Anti-Snap Leave-In Fortifier I’ve seen a significant decrease in the amount of breakage! What more could you ask for? – Jessi, Associate Editor
