Tuesday Ten: September Style Tips

Welcome to a fresh new roundup of my monthly Style Tips, everyone! You’ve already heard me say it this week, but September is all about highlighting fall fashion. While I tend use every month as an excuse to refresh the trends on my radar, September kicks off a whole new season (and just so happens to be one of the biggest fashion months of the year!). I can officially start stocking up on cooler weather essentials like moto jackets and oversized sweaters, both of which I’ve been super excited to wear again this year. I know that it isn’t quite time to transition your summer clothes out completely, so in today’s Style Tips I’ve included some of my favorite end of summer and early fall pieces.

Each month, I love finding new fashion bloggers and hand selecting these ten seasonal outfits to share with you all. Each woman has put her own personal flair into each outfit, ultimately inspiring my own wardrobe. So without further ado, prepare to be inspired by ten of the most stylish ladies out there…

Lace It Up: criss cross laced top

1. Lace it up.

Just because the weather is changing doesn’t mean you have to give up your favorite trends. While lace-up everything was popular this summer on crop tops and sundresses, I love how Jessica of The Way To My Hart is rocking it in a long sleeved silhouette. Throw on a moto jacket and your favorite pair of skinny jeans to complete the ensemble.

Ladylike details

2. Embrace ladylike details.

Two of my go-to classic feminine pieces have to be bows and t-strap heels. There’s nothing you can’t conquer with the right pair of pumps. Helena of Brooklyn Blonde is doing everything right with her button-up bow blouse, embellished shoulder bag, and of course those perfect heels. Switch out the short when the weather starts cooling down for an easy transitional outfit.

Heavy Metal accents via The Fashion Fraction

3. Heavy metal.

Gold is one of my favorite accent colors. From weddings to home décor and now this bold outfit, gold can really make a statement. Michèle of The Fashion Fraction unexpectedly paired her metallic maxi skirt with a striped sweater and army green jacket—a combination that definitely works. I challenge you to all be bold this month with a combo like this!

Playing with different fabrics and textures

4. Mixed media.

I love how fashion gives you the ability to play with different fabrics and textures, depending on your mood. Soraya Bakhtiar is doing just that with her lace dress, velvet booties, and studded jacket. Opposites attract and come together perfectly in her ensemble.

When in doubt, go nude

5. When in doubt, go nude.

There’s nothing I love more than a classic denim and white shirt combination. In fact, I wear this combo most days to the office and during photoshoots. Sarah of A House In The Hills glammed up the duo with her nude pumps and matching nude tote, two accessories that are sure to never go out of style.

 Wrap top on Fashion Jackson

6. That’s a wrap.

One silhouette-enhancing piece that I’m excited for this month is the wrap blouse. This blouse flatters all figures and can take any outfit from casual to business in a snap. Amy of Fashion Jackson wears minimal accessories—her gorgeous powder blue blouse with ruffled sleeves does all the talking.

fall jumpsuit look on Minimal Major

7. Jumpsuit for joy.

This month I’m trading in my rompers for their stylish cousin. Jumpsuits are an easy way to look polished and put-together without the hassle of multiple layers. I love how Madison of Minimal Major complimented her navy jumpsuit with a pop of pink.

Open shoulder top on Miss Minus Sized

8. Give summer the cold shoulder.

That’s right ladies, the cold shoulder top is here to stay. Sushmitha of Miss Minus Sized is looking like a late summer goddess in her lace culottes, round sunnies, and cold shoulder top. For sunny days ahead, don’t forget a wide-brimmed fedora.

 Fall denim

9. Do denim the right way.

If you haven’t noticed, denim skirts are making a major comeback this year. Reminiscent of my high school days, Megan of Attn To Detail is wearing a more elevated version of the coveted trend. Plus, the wrap detail on her skirt adds a little something extra.

Give autumn the slip (dress)

10. Give autumn the slip.

My all-time favorite dress this season has to be the slip dress. They’re dressy enough to wear on a night out or casual enough to wear to brunch with the ladies. Lucy of Fashion Me Now paired hers with black slip-ons because let’s face it, this dress turns heads all on its own.
