Hello lovely ladies! Jessi from Team LC here. I’m really excited because today I’m going to share with all of you a new monthly column I will be doing all about fashion. While I know that the topic of fashion is something we cover all the time here on LaurenConrad.com, I wanted to approach the category from a different angle. Coming from someone who frequented thrift stores in high school and lived on a pretty tight college budget, splurging on my wardrobe wasn’t always an option. I have to admit that I’ve kept some of the same habits post-grad and I think it has only benefitted my closet.
In my years of learning how to build a more mature closet I’ve come across a few key elements. My first tip is to trade in your trend-driven wardrobe for classic staples that are less likely to go out of style as soon as the weather changes. I’m a pretty firm believer in investing in timeless pieces that will last. That being said I am not telling you to ditch your favorite band tee because it didn’t make the list. That brings me to my second tip…
Be more intentional. In relationships, in your daily to do list and especially in your closet. Before making a purchase ask yourself, “am I going to wear this article of clothing more than once?” If your answer has two letters in it, walk away. However, building an intentional and timeless wardrobe doesn’t mean that you have to spend a pretty penny—which leads us back to the reason why I’m starting this new column. Each month I am going to put together an affordable outfit and share it with all of you! Because you too can create your dream closet without breaking the bank.
So without further ado, I introduce you to my first Style Steal installment. Keep scrolling to see an affordable outfit perfect for those late summer days. These items all look way more expensive than they actually are…
H&M Lyocell Jumpsuit, $49.99
ASOS Star And Paisley Bandana Neckerchief, $8.50
LC Lauren Conrad Knot Cuff Bracelet, $14
LC Lauren Conrad Bead & Knot Bracelet Set, $16
ASOS New Look Barely There Heel, $33
Merona Faux Leather Saddle Crossbody with Suede Tassel, $26.99
One of my favorite pieces to wear during the summer is a romper or jumpsuit like this pretty little number. The best part? This romper was made with sustainability in mind. That’s right, H&M has a new Conscious line where each article of clothing is made with the planet and your bank account in mind. Now that’s a win-win in my book! Since we’re still going for timeless, I chose neutral accessories in classic silhouettes. To add a little flair I topped this outfit off with a blue bandana scarf (a trend that I’m personally loving right now!).
I can’t wait to put together another outfit for you next month!
