Tuesday Ten: April Style Tips

I don’t know about you, but I’ve stepped into spring and am never looking back! Now that the weather is cooperating, it’s time to break out all of those beloved pieces that have been dying to see the sun. Not only are department stores filled with the best that this season has to offer, but festival wear is popping up all over the place. For this month’s freshly picked style tips I’ve handpicked versatile pieces that will sail you straight into warmer weather. These tips are perfect for a sunshine filled weekend with your girlfriends, whether that’s around town, by the beach, or in the desert at your favorite concert.

Take a peek below to see my current faves when it comes to style tips and tricks…

Pops of poms via Atlantic Pacific

1. Pops of poms.
My favorite accessories this season include anything with tassels or pom poms. From handbag key chains to the tassel embellished heels that Blair of Atlantic Pacific is donning above—you name it I love it. If you’re looking to adorn a festival outfit in April, this detail is the perfect addition.

Tie it up via M Loves M

2. Tie it up.
One dress silhouette that I’m currently crushing on is the tie-waist shirt dress. Mara of M Loves M demonstrates how this trend can easily be worn out and about with minimal accessories or dolled up with strappy heels and a great handbag.

A case of the blues via Blank Itinerary

3. Have a case of the blues.
The blues are fine by me if they look anything like Paola of Blank Itinerary’s indigo ensemble. Going for a monochromatic look like this one? Be sure to break up the color with fun patterns and textures.

April showers bring May flowers via A Piece of Toast

4. April showers bring May flowers.
If there’s one pattern synonymous with spring, it has to be floral. Molly of A Piece of Toast shows us a different take on the beloved pattern by mixing prints and experimenting with color combinations. I have to admit, those pleated daisy shorts are calling my name!

Gingham style via Peony Lim

5. Gingham style.
I’m putting pause on plaid for the time being and replacing it with gingham. While the two aren’t a far cry from one another, there’s something fun about mixing up your favorite pattern. Peony Lim does gingham the right way with her lace-up flats and denim jacket—two trends that are also ultra chic at the moment.

Opposites attract via Color Me Courtney

6. Opposites attract.
Zou bisou bisou! Courtney of Color Me Courtney demonstrates effortlessly that two unlikely prints can create the ultimate combination. I also love some good high-waisted shorts like Courtney’s striped pair. After all, stripes are the new neutral!

Collar crazed via Memorandum

7. Be collar crazed.
Business attire doesn’t always mean pantsuits and briefcases (although I can’t resist a good pair of trousers). A stark white Peter Pan collar adds an unexpected element to Mary of Memorandum’s professional ensemble. I personally feel the most professional in a great pair of heels! So grab your favorite blazer and matching pumps to show everyone that you mean business.

Be a boho babe via Quintessentials

8. Be a boho babe.
Festival season means one thing: breaking out all of your favorite bohemian pieces. This time around, I like an unconventional feminine take on the trend like Megan of The Quintessentials shows us above. Lace up sandals, a wide-brim boater hat, and metallic accessories are a must when breaking out your LWD.

Dream in denim via A House In The Hills

9. Dream in denim.
Two things that should be in your closet this year: denim and nude. You really can’t go wrong with either one (and your outfit choices will be endless)! Sarah of A House In The Hills struts her stuff in a two-piece denim number that I can’t take my eyes off of.

Draped to perfection via Soraya

10. Draped to perfection.
This dress is everything. Soraya Bakhtiar has found the maxi dress goldmine with this draped gown. Reserve it for date night or break it out at your next spring soiree. Either way you’ll be sure to turn heads!
