Currently Craving: Mules

Currently Craving: Mules

It may have taken me a while to get on the mule trend bandwagon, but today I’m happy to report that I’ve officially joined the fan club. Did you know that mules have been a popular shoe style for years, dating all the way back to the Baroque-era? They were even worn by nobles in Versailles and were a fashionable shoe style that conveyed social status and aristocracy. Today, you don’t have to be living in a palace to wear a chic pair of mules. They come at all different price points and in all different styles—from flat to heeled to open-toed and more. Speaking of different styles, I’ve rounded up a range of mules below so that you can pick a favorite and put it right in your shopping basket. My personal favorites are the gorgeous pair below by Mansur Gavriel (look at that perfect peachy color). But there’s sure to be something for everyone, so take a peek. Happy shoe shopping!

Mansur Gavriel Leather Mules

1. Mansur Gavriel Leather Mules, $475

This pretty pair may be a splurge, but they’re too gorgeous to pass up. I love the light peach color and the criss-cross straps across the top of the foot. I would wear these with a pair of cropped, relaxed fit jeans for a day of running around doing errands.

ASOS Monument Leather Mules

2. ASOS Monument Leather Mules, $77

The tassels on these leather mules are a nod to the loafer shoe style, which makes them a little more unique than your classic mule. And the cool grey color goes with just about everything.

ASOS Halo Heeled Mules

3. ASOS Halo Heeled Mules, $60

Paired with a pretty white eyelet sundress, these blush heeled mules would be part of a spring outfit made in heaven. Plus, they come at a great price.

Phillip Lim 3.1 Cube Denim Open-Toe Slide Sandals

4. Phillip Lim 3.1 Cube Denim Open-Toe Slide Sandals, $425

While these funky denim mules by Phillip Lim 3.1 are a pretty penny, they sure are worth it. Wear them with a suede button-down skirt and a flowy blouse, and you’ll have a look that screams “cool girl.”

 Daisy Street Mule Heeled Sandals

5. Daisy Street Mule Heeled Sandals, $52

Because I can never turn down rose gold. These metallic mules are fun, flirty and won’t break the bank. Consider them your new pair of party shoes.

Loeffler Randal Clo Tassel Mules

6. Loeffler Randal Clo Tassel Mules, $395

Loeffler Randal never disappoints when it comes to footwear. This designer always debuts a must-have pair each season that immediately lands itself on my wish list. This season, these tassel mules are my #1.

ASOS Tall Order Mule Sandals

7. ASOS Tall Order Mule Sandals, $55

The stacked heel on these ASOS mules is the perfect complement to the pretty mint hue. This pair is sure to be a street style showstopper.

Jenni Kayne Leopard Mule Slides

8. Jenni Kayne Leopard Mule Slides, $425

Looking for a pair to wear on weekends with boyfriend jeans and your favorite white t-shirt? Look no further. The touch of leopard on these mule slides makes them fun—not to mention that the flat heel adds an extra element of comfort, too.

Taryn Rose ‘Rimba’ Mule

9. Taryn Rose ‘Rimba’ Mule, $239

You know by now that I firmly believe that every girl should have a great, on-trend pair of classic black shoes in her closet. This season, those are classic black mules (or Mary Jane pumps, which I wrote about here). These ones fit the bill.

Vince Camuto ‘Jevan’ Mule

10. Vince Camuto ‘Jevan’ Mule, $118.95

If you fell in love with the Mansur Gavriel pair at the beginning of this post (like I did), then you’ll be happy to know that these mules are a similar style for my babes on a budget. The cross-over straps, the suede texture, and the rich cognac color all make this the perfect mule to add to your wardrobe.

Which pair is your favorite?

Are you going to jump on board the mule train like I did?

Let me know in the comments below.
