The month of candy hearts, love notes and cupid’s arrow is upon us. But before you fill your February calendar with plans, be sure to take a peek below. I’ve brainstormed five fun things I’ll be doing this month, and I think they might inspire you too. Valentine’s Day is just a few days away, so take a peek below for my February 5 Things to Try, and get ready to enjoy the whole month ahead…
1. Bake Valentine’s Treats for Your Sweets.
If you’re the type of person who constantly scrolls through adorable baked goods on Pinterest but never bites the bullet when it comes to actually making them, now is the time. Find that recipe you’ve always wanted to make, buy the supplies, and get to it! The best thing about this activity is that you have the perfect excuse—bake your treats with love and give them out to your boyfriend, girlfriend, bestie, or co-workers.
2. Pull Out Your Pale Pink Pieces.
I don’t know about you, but I love the way a pop of pink looks in an outfit… Especially this time of year. Surrounding Valentine’s Day, you have every excuse to pull out the pale pink pieces in your closet to create a romantic color scheme, just like Hello Fashion did in this photo. Hot pink and red are welcome too!

3. Read an Inspirational Book.
Our LaurenConrad.com editor Rachel and I recently picked up the book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up and it really has been life changing! This de-cluttering manual by Marie Kondo gives tips on how to organize your life to live to your full potential and be as happy as possible. It’s fascinating, and has really motivated us to only keep what we need. If you haven’t already read it, I highly recommend this one.
4. Make a Travel Wish List.
Even though we’re only a little over a month into 2016, summer will be here before you know it. And if you have ever planned a big trip before, you know that you have to start early. This month, put together your dream travel wish list. Then, as we get closer to summer, narrow it down to one top spot, and, with a little organizing and budgeting, you could find yourself on a plane before you know it!
5. Layer your delicate jewelry.
I used to be intimated by wearing a ton of rings or bracelets on one hand—always stick to the rule that if you have a ring on one had, wear your bracelet on the other for balance. But nowadays, it’s all about piling on the delicate pieces. This month, I encourage you to just go for it. And stay tuned for a post coming to the blog soon about how to achieve the perfectly layered look by Lauren herself.
