Here at LaurenConrad.com, we believe that birthdays should be celebrated to the absolute fullest. There’s nothing we love more than spoiling our loved ones and wishing them an amazing year ahead. And milestone birthdays are an even bigger excuse to throw a party to remember. After all, you deserve it! Whether you’re turning 21, 30, 50, or 90, each milestone birthday should be a memorable celebration to cherish for years to come.
In the spirit of Lauren entering her thirties next week, we’re showing you how to throw the ultimate milestone birthday bash, with the help of Lauren’s dear friend and wedding planner Cassandra Bette. Don’t dread blowing out your candles; Make it a fête to remember…
1. Have a destination birthday.
As if celebrating a milestone birthday wasn’t special enough, why not spend it in a location you’ve been dying to visit? Use your birthday as an excuse to plan a vacation with your friends and family in a setting of your choice. Imagine ringing in your next decade on white sandy beaches or underneath the Eiffel Tower…we can see it already!
2. Take it personal.
While birthdays tend to be a personal affair, consider spending your milestone birthday appreciating those who have been by your side through the ups and downs. Lauren’s friend and wedding planner Cassandra suggests honoring your guests in thoughtful ways. Consider incorporating photos of you and your loved ones into the party décor or having your guests take home keepsake party favors at the end of the night. We love the idea of cherishing our relationships as we enter a new chapter and they’ll appreciate it too.
3. Create a theme.
Take a tip from Heidi Klum and throw a themed birthday party, costumes included. Choose a decade (roaring 20’s, eclectic 80’s, etc.) or go with something a little wilder (have you seen Lauren’s party animal costumes?). From your invitations to your party décor, we suggest going all out depending on the theme of your choice.
4. Take time to reflect.
Birthdays have a tendency to remind us that we have a lot to check off on our bucket lists. Instead of dwelling on what you haven’t done, we encourage you to make a list of what you’re thankful for. Spend time reflecting on where you come from, the hard work you’ve put in, and what dreams you can make reality this year.
5. Make a change.
Nothing rings in a new decade quite like change. Small or drastic, a little bit of change can do a body good. Make an appointment for that haircut you’ve been thinking about or redecorate your bedroom. We know that you have something in mind! So for your milestone birthday, we encourage you to take the plunge and make that change happen.
Here’s to another amazing birthday!
