I was quite the candy connoisseur as a kid. I remember sitting with my friends following a night of trick-or-treating, comparing and trading our Halloween loot. From Ring Pops to rock candy to Warheads, candy was more than just tasty. It was fun!
Naturally, Halloween involves less candy and more cocktails these days. But that doesn’t mean I don’t still appreciate a cute and kitschy Halloween treat. I loved candy necklaces when I was younger, so at our most recent photo shoot I had the idea of creating a chicer, more grownup version of this classic confection. If you’re looking for a little something sweet to give to your girlfriends or hand out at the office on Halloween, might I suggest some DIY gummy jewelry? The concept is simple enough, but they turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself!
Here’s What You Will Need:
- A selection of gummy candies (or other treats soft enough to thread a needle through)
- Elastic cord
You can string your candy in a pattern, but I personally love how they look strung at random. Your needle will get a little sticky as you go, so you may need to rinse it off periodically. Be as gentle as you can when you’re pulling the needle through to avoid having the elastic cord snap.
What do you think of our gummy candy jewelry? Pretty cute, aren’t they?
