Well ladies, we are officially one week into fall! If you’ve been an avid reader of LaurenConrad.com you know that means we’ll soon be discussing everything Halloween—especially costumes. Until then, I’m diving headfirst into your best fall fashion submissions, so keep them coming. It’s only appropriate that this week’s Chic is donning one of my all-time favorite fall trends this year: ‘70s inspired, high-waisted wide leg pants (say that three times fast!). While some may argue that this trend isn’t for everyone, I totally disagree: High-waisted trousers can be worn at the office or even if you want to kick a casual outfit up a notch. And have I mentioned that they make your legs look a mile long? Keep scrolling to see how our Chic of the Week welcomes us into the new season wearing one of fall’s hottest trends…

Congrats to our latest Chic, Shelby!

'70s inspired trousers make your legs look a mile long!

Shelby is looking retro-chic in her high-waisted wide leg pants.

We’ve got a ‘70s babe on our hands! Shelby is looking retro-chic in her high-waisted wide leg pants. Since her printed pants are already a statement, Shelby paired them with neutral accessories as to not divert your attention. I don’t know if you’ve noticed but the tan wedge sandals that she’s are peeking out match the color in her pants perfectly. And that pretty quilted handbag? I love it all. Enough about me, here’s what Shelby loves about her outfit…

I love a good floral print but sometimes wearing florals into fall can be a bit of a challenge. I love these pleated high waisted pants not only because of the fall-inspired colors but also because of their extreme comfort! I paired these statement, pleated pants with a simple white tee to make a casual but chic beginning of fall look.

Trust me when I say you’re doing everything right with this outfit, Shelby! Thank you for sharing it with us.

Which decade are you most inspired by?

Mine is definitely the ‘70s, but I’d love to hear yours in the comments.
