I believe that no matter how busy life gets, you can always find some time to give back. Volunteering is one of the best things you can do for your community and yourself. Whether you donate your time, money, or other resources, there’s no better feeling than doing your part to improve the lives of others. My LaurenConrad.com editors and I recently took an afternoon off work to volunteer at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. I’ve had the opportunity to volunteer with CHLA before, and it’s a cause I really love getting involved with.

Since the children and teens at CHLA might be there for weeks or even months, they don’t always get the opportunity to do the usual kinds of fun kid activities that they would at home. So, we decided to bring a little bit of fun inside the hospital walls. My team and I planned a crafting day with the teens, and we showed up with all the supplies we needed to make some chic wall art. Check out my photo diary below…

I set up these three examples of wall art that I made the night before. I used my favorite Cricut cutting machine for the bottom two, which I brought along for the kids to use that day too…

I basically brought the entire craft store with me… (Hey, better to be over-prepared than unprepared!)

We had fun crafting and chatting and comparing manicures…

Some of the teens made art for their rooms, and some of them also made gifts for Mother’s Day. I love how this gift turned out for a tennis-loving mom…

The patients were all so positive, and we had so much fun together! I left feeling grateful and inspired.

What do you do to give back?
