Let’s face it: There aren’t too many of us (myself included) who have time to get a blow out every single day. And while in a perfect world we would have gorgeous beachy waves in a pinch, sometimes we need a quick fix to make our hair look good. Enter: braids. Creating a braided hairstyle is the perfect solution when you want to look put together but you don’t have time for perfecting your mane. It’s my go-to when I’m trying to make my hair last between blowouts, and it works every time. Which is why I was recently inspired to research a few new ways to plait my tresses…
Each of the hairstyles below will be a perfect complement to your fall wardrobe. Without further ado, here are braided ‘dos you can wear to the office, on the weekends, or, really, anywhere this fall…
1. Full Braided Crown
I love how this braided crown isn’t just half-up, half-down, but incorporates all of the hair. The perfect way to hide that second-day hair, don’t you agree?
2. Half Braided Crown
This one is an unconventional yet sophisticated take on the braided half crown. Simply fish tail hair into two separate braids and wrap them into a crown.
3. Braided Bun
4. French Braided Bun
The perfect braided updo for upcoming weddings and holiday parties! An elegant French braid twisted into a bun for a glamorous finishing touch.
5. Knotted Side Braid
Not everyone is a hair-whiz, but this knotty side braid is as simple as it gets! Sweep hair to one side and begin by knotting hair. The next few steps? Just keep knotting until you’ve reached your desired braid length.
6. Bohemian Side Braid
Boho vibes don’t have to end when summer does… Keep the festival beauty coming with this French-braid-to-fishtail side swept braid.
7. Knotted Milkmaid Braid
This braid doesn’t even involve braiding (what?!). Yep, that’s right. This gem of a hairstyle is another knotty ‘do that creates the illusion of a milkmaid braid. Take two sections of hair on top of your head and begin to twist the two sections into knots. Repeat until desired length.
