It’s hard to say goodbye to summer. The sunny skies, longer days, and general laidback feel makes it our favorite season here at LaurenConrad.com. And it’s only normal to feel a little bummed out when all that starts to fade away. But all is not lost. With a few little tricks you can boost your spirits and lift your mood all the way through fall…
Plan a Dream Getaway
Fall is a great time to start planning a vacation—even if it’s just on a Pinterest board. It’s ok to fantasize about your next tropical getaway, whether you’ll actually be booking a trip soon or not. Even if you won’t be able to get away again until next summer (or beyond), it’s always nice to have something to look forward to. Plus, it’s convenient to have everything planned and plotted out for when it is time to actually make travel arrangements.
Enjoy the New Season
Even if you’re sad to see summer coming to an end, you should be able to find at least a few things that make you truly excited for fall. Embrace the things you love about the new season instead of thinking about what you’ll be saying goodbye to. For me, that means focusing on fall foods and recipes, holiday scented candles, and of course, fall crafts.
Shop Till You Drop
Indulging in a little retail therapy has never felt so right. Fall just so happens to be the biggest season of the year for the fashion industry, making for a good excuse to cheer yourself up with a new pair of boots, a coat, or some fresh denim. I love summer, but when it’s warm out I definitely miss getting all dressed up in cozy layers and cold weather accessories.
Be an Early Bird
For me, the hardest part of saying goodbye to summer is seeing the days get shorter. It can feel downright depressing to walk out of work to a pitch-black sky. So when fall begins, I really make a concerted effort to wake up a little earlier and take advantage of some daylight hours before the workday begins. Whether that means a morning walk around the neighborhood with my husband or a leisurely stop at a coffee shop, I’m much happier when I get outside and see the light of day.
