Hey ladies, it’s Anna here from Fash Boulevard. Style mavens of all ages are professing their love for this season’s hottest trend: crop tops. But, as someone who has always been very body-conscious, finding a way to comfortably incorporate the trend into my wardrobe was a bit of a challenge. I’ve found that the best way to camouflage a non-model tummy region is choosing boxy crop tops. Much like denim shorts, having a little extra fabric on either side, no matter the size, will always result in a more flattering appearance. The loose fit will keep the fabric from hugging your self-conscious areas and layer easily over a loose button down.
When choosing the perfect button down to layer underneath your crop top, go with something a little longer than your average top. The extra length will cover your upper thighs and backside, while also balancing out the proportions, giving you the appearance of a teeny tiny waist…

High Waisted
A flowy, high-waisted maxi skirt is a super stylish way to mask any midsection insecurities. It’s important to remember that it is possible to pull off a crop top, while never showing an inch of tummy. For an extra flattering look, pair your high-waisted maxi with a loose crop sweater for a romantic night look.

Detail Distractions
High-waisted shorts with a sash belt or bow are a great way to “distract” and cover up any stomach insecurities that your boxy crop top may showcase. The bow will camouflage your midsection (see how I styled a pair here), and it will instantly diminish some of those crop top hesitations.

Classy & Confident
For all the crazy toned ladies who rock a killer figure far beyond just the summer months, show off your hard earned abs with a classy pair of printed trousers. Opting to pair your crop top with luxurious fabrics, as opposed to denim, will instantly add a hint of sophistication.
