5 Things to Try This Month

February is, of course, a month marked by the most romantic holiday of the year: Valentine’s Day. While I love setting out conversation heart candies in my house and making homemade Valentine’s to give to friends and family, once the holiday is over I often feel lost in the transition between winter and spring. In an effort to avoid said awkward transitional period, I’ve gathered five fabulous ideas to try this month. Get ready to have the best February ever.

Take a peek below for a few reasons to spice up this month…

1. Treat yourself to fresh flowers.
Even if you have a Valentine, there is no better gift to one’s self than a gorgeous bouquet. You deserve it! And while you’re at it, brush up on a few of our flower arranging tips too.

2. Find your signature lip balm.
If you don’t already have a favorite lip product, now is the time to invest in about 30 minutes at your local beauty shop to find your perfect pout moisturizer. A moisturizing balm that smells great is a girl’s best friend (not to mention a necessity). Take a peek at Lauren’s beauty board on Pinterest for a few of our suggestions.

3. Bake a heart-shaped dessert.
In honor of this month’s holiday, go ahead bake your heart out. Literally. Take your favorite cookie, brownie or cupcake recipe and bake your goodies into heart shapes. They will make for great gift and I guarantee they will taste much better. Click here to see some of our favorite heart-shaped baked goods from our Valentine’s Day dessert party at Lauren’s house.

4. Make it a mini.
Just because it’s February doesn’t mean you have to keep that leather mini skirt stored away in your closet. I dare you to pair your favorite mini skirt with a pair of tall boots (and tights if it’s an extra chilly day). Take a note from Sincerely Jules and go for new heights with a mini.

5. Try a new workout class.
I am the type of person who is reluctant to switch up my workout routine since I am so comfortable with my spinning-yoga-running weekly rotation. But, I recently went to a new workout class with my friend and The Little Market founder Hannah. I found that I absolutely loved trying something new and I’m going again this week. I encourage all of you to try a new workout that you’ve never done before—it just might be your new favorite.

How will you make February your best month ever?
