After lusting over all of the lovely backstage beauty looks during Spring 2013 Fashion Week last fall, we are excited to finally add some new style ideas into our beauty rotation! Below are 3 of our favorite spring 2013 beauty trends to try now:
Matte lips were all over the Spring 2013 runways. From Burberry Prorsum, Giles, and Prada to Erdem and Jason Wu, this is a trend that’s easy to pull off for work or for play. (As a matter of fact, I recently posted a tutorial about mattifying your lipstick on Makeup.com—take a peek!)
Knotted Low Buns
From Chanel and Altuzarra to the runways at Ralph Lauren, knotted buns placed at the nape of the neck proved to be a must for spring. Luckily for those of you who tend to always be running late, this is an excellent low-maintenance hairstyle that can be done with wet, dry, or slightly dirty hair. Just twist, knot, pin, and go! (If you have a little extra time, tease the crown of your head for some added volume.)
Nail art may still reign supreme but there’s a new nail look that’s trending for spring: two-tone! We saw this look at Vivienne Westwood (pictured above), Tracy Reese, Roland Mouret, Peter Som and 3.1 Phillip Lim, and let’s just say that we are BIG fans. Easy and chic—double win! To try this trend yourself, paint your nails with a base color and allow it to dry completely. Then select an accent color, place a piece of tape over a section of the nail and paint the exposed part of the nail with the accent color. Remove the tape (while the accent color paint is still wet) and voila–you have yourself a two tone mani!
