If you read my list of 10 things to try this spring you might have noticed that, between going to music festivals and road tripping up the California coast, I am planning on living quite colorfully this season. But not only do I plan on living colorfully, I’m also vowing to dress more colorfully too. Back in September when spring fashion trends were gracing the ready-to-wear runways, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on fresh spring clothes. Now that winter has come and gone, the time has come to punch up your wardrobe. And no two colors pack quite as much punch as chartreuse and coral.

My love affair with both of these citrusy hues started with Marchesa and ended with Gucci. Chartreuse and coral may be a tricky color combo to wear together, but adding pops here and there will brighten up any ensemble instantly. If you don’t believe me, just take a peek at these five outfit inspirations below…

1. Limelight.
If you’re still in the process of transitioning your wardrobe, drop dull tones and pick a bright sweater for a springy touch.

2. Fancy feet.
I love the way this style blogger added coral to her outfit by putting on a pair of ladylike pumps (the adorable bows don’t hurt either!).

3. Flirty skirt.
To incorporate this key lime hue intro your workplace wardrobe, look for pieces that are tailored and conservative. The blogger behind Skirt The Rules let her chartreuse skirt do all the talking by keeping her top and accessories neutral and sophisticated.

4. The silky way.
Silk pants are going to be a huge style staple in my closet this spring. I would love to find a coral pair like the polka-dotted ones below.

5. Mix master.
If you’re feeling extra daring, try wearing chartreuse and coral together. This color combo is especially fitting for the warm summer months to come.

Will you give these citrus shades a try?
