    In all honesty:
    1. Lauren Conrad beautifully portrays young elegance and relates to young adults in a personal and real manner. Lauren easily shows off her gorgeous smile and simple way of being a strong lady.
    2. Kate Middleton is older, but shows the ladylike femininity of what a growing young lady would seek. Kate is soft in showing off her presence and adorns simple clothing, accessory, and makeup essential.
    3. Audrey Hepburn is pure genius of lovely ladylike attire for the girl who wants to enjoy her life, have a great time in everything that she does and easily looks beautiful in her natural face.

    1. Audrey Hepburn- I became really obsessed with Audrey Hepburn in Junior High (I am 19 now) and my parents just thought it was a quick obsession but I still love her just as much as I did then. My parents actually started to get me hooked on her when they told me to watch “”Breakfast at Tiffany’s”” with them. Her style is elegant and classy and she is also a down to earth person. She not only known for her fashion but also all of her philanthropy she did which just makes her that much more special.

    2. Lauren Conrad- You are probably going to get this answer a lot but when I say you are my fashion icon I mean. I knew I wanted to something fashion related since Junior High age and I watched you work at Teen Vogue and I knew that is what I wanted to do. When you came to Austin in April my question was picked at the book signing and it asked how I could get my foot in the door at Teen Vogue and you told me to do as many internships as I could. I took your advice and I’m having the time of life with everything. I love your style and everything you stand for.

  • Megan R.

I love Grace Kelly’s style. Everything from her wedding dress to her wardrobe in movies like Rear Window. She was so classy, but also knew how add fun and feminine details to her look! Even her hair styles and make-up were so pretty and timeless.
I also very much admire and look up to Kate Middleton. She seems so poised confident in her style choices. She too is very classy and timeless!

  • Anna Stockstad

For sure Audrey Hepburn and Coco Chanel. Their styles are both so classic and beautiful.

  • Ellyn Horan

My style icons definitely differ depending on the era. Since I’m a history major this is especially true so here are my top three from modern times and historically as well.

    My modern icons:
    1. Rachel Bilson
    2. Sienna Miller
    3. Ashley Olsen

    Historical Icons:
    1. Edie Sedgwick – She embodies everything I love about fashion because she doesn’t take it so seriously. Her clothes were always fresh, intriguing, and unique.
    2. Grace Kelly
    3. Bridget Bardot
    (4. & of course Audrey Hepburn)

  • Michela Garau

  • Hilary Turnbull

My top 3 favorite fashion icons of all time would be:

    1. Jackie Onassis Kennedy
    2. Audrey Hepburn
    3. Grace Kelly

All of these ladies throughout the years maintained grace, poise, and decadence through their demeanor and style. They redefined class all on their own without outside influence. Each lady was her own woman and lived very heavily in the public eye but never strayed from staying true to themselves. All three ladies have been an inspiration to me for my whole life.

  • Thamara Lima

    Marilyn Monroe
    Lauren Conrad
    and Marianna Makela.

    1.Bianca Jagger
    2.Anita Pallenberg
    3.Steve McQueen
    4.Robert Redford
    5.Keith Richards

All of these people have great style. People like Robert Redford and Steve McQueen and the others that I mentioned could wear a potato sack and still look great because they have so much confidence. They are all so self-assured and they could pull anything off. I try to keep that in mind when I give my outfit a final glance before I go out the door.

I just had myself a nice Audrey Hepburn movie marathon this past weekend, and I will never get sick of her style! She is the definition of TIMELESS!

Examples… her black and white gown in Sabrina (1954) and her lace Edith Head-designed gown in the final scene of Roman Holiday, before later wearing it to the Oscars in 1954… so classic and lovely!!!

  • Karey Tom

    Nina Garcia
    Marion Cotillard

Audrey, of course! She is basically just my life icon. Just a lovely human being all around.
Princess Diana. As a kid, I wanted to be her! She knew how to look stunningly put together, and how to dress down. She embodies all the best trends of the time period to be timeless. She was just so gracefully herself-she played her role with integrity.
Diane Keaton. I wouldn’t say I would dress exactly like her, but her bravery and quirkiness have definitely inspired me to be fearless! Plus, the woman knows how to accessorize. Love her.

Zooey Deschanel: very girly and indie, but always manages to be fun and to express her personality with some great pieces
Jennifer Aniston: sexy and feminine; chooses simple pieces that flatter her figure…very less-is-more

  • Emily

Lauren Conrad is of course at the top of my list! I’ve loved your style ever since I started watching The Hills, especially in the last couple of seasons. I have both your Style and Beauty books and absolutely love them. I’ve gotten so much advice on style and things to get since those books came out.

And then I love the Kardashian sisters. They all seem to have their own style and I just love their looks over all.

  • stephanie

betsey johnson & vivienne westwood because their style is amazing and the way they mix colors, prints, studs and leather is genius.
Mary Kate and Ashley olsen because their style is a mix of a bunch of different things-edgy & hippy which i love.

  • Casey G.

    Besides Lauren Conrad…

    1. Blake Lively – not only does she not use a stylist, but she knows what to wear to flatter her frame. She is always classic and feminine and isn’t afraid to take risks.
    2. Kate Middleton – combining both high and low pieces, she may be a princess, but she dresses in a way that anybody can imitate.
    3. Kourtney Kardashian – she dresses for her figure and looked AMAZING during both pregnancies. A true testament to her fashion sense.

  • Allie

My style comes from a mixture of: the Kardashians, Lana Del Rey, and Demi Lavado

  • Jessamyn

Jaqueline Kennedy (Onassis). She exuded class, sophistication, and high fashion as the First Lady, during a time when it was not easy for women to express themselves through fashion. Even after her time in the White House, she was fearless with her style. She set fashion-forward style trends all over the world, and established a social trend for women to be independent, intelligent, and strong.

  • Shoegal Out In The World

My fashion icons are Sarah Jessica Parker & her alter ego Carrie Bradshaw, Blair Woldford & Audrey Heuburn… Each one of them have a unique style, but still preppy, ladylike & fashion forward… Even though I know Blair & Carrie are just TV heroins, I still love their style & use it for inspiration…

    xo, Violeta

  • Leanna Nguyen

My top three historical fashion icons are probably Audrey Hepburn, Coco Chanel, and Elizabeth Taylor.

Audrey has always been an inspiration to me with her classic little black dress and pearls. She timelessly looks flawless in a her classic Breakfast at Tiffany’s outfit. Her style is classy and never will go out of style.

Everyone knows Coco Chanel; firstly as the creator of one of the greatest brands in history: Chanel. She is the mother of modern fashion and showed us important pieces in fashion: anything black, tweed jackets, and quilted purses. Chanel is one of the most fabulous designers of all times that inspires me to live up to her saying, “”A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.”” I always live up to this saying even through times when people around me dress like trash.

Lastly, Elizabeth Taylor is one of my top icons because she has taught the world diamonds are truly a girls best friend. Her roles in movies proved for her to be a strong and confident actress who also dressed with taste and class. She has set some styles for this current generation to follow. Her love for diamonds is amazing because diamonds can always make a plain simple outfit into one with your own personal style and flair. It can also dress up an outfit easily. She will be remembered for setting a great example.

These three motivational women have driven me everyday to be classy, fabulous, and chic. If everyone looked up to them, the world would be a lot more stylish.

  • Emily Arnold
