I love that video!! If I had to makeover my 16-year-old self, I’d actually teach myself how to use a straightener! My nasty thick hair in high school is always such an embarrassment to look back on!

  • Lindsey Gerstlauer

At 16, I would have toned down on using the bronzer, haha! I also didn’t know my true style then and even now, I’m still learning :-) I want to feel comfortable and achieve a fantastic look at the same time!

  • Anna

    Whens the next book club?

  • Ivonne Badillo

    LOVE this video!!!

  • aviana wyall

Still 16… so BRING ON MORE ADVICE! 😉

  • Ashley Rizzardo

I probably would have told myself to hold back on the purple eyeshadow haha!

  • Mariella

Dear 16-year-old me….stay out of the sun and STOP dressing like all your friends!

  • Beth Schilling

If I could give my teenage self a makeover, I would definitely teach myself how to contour, I would go to get my eyebrows shaped, and I would quit buying all of my clothes from Hollister. Oh yeah, and I would get rid of my hemp necklaces.

  • Arden Intile

LOVE IT! i love your hair now <3

  • Alexandra Gill

    Dear 16-year-old me:

“”Punk rock”” was not the best look for you. I’m glad we got better.

  • Melissa Panici

I would say to the 16 year old me, stop fake baking! I have stopped now thanks to you, Lauren. I don’t want skin cancer. Great post!

  • Arelis Nelms

16 year old self: STOP trying to be like everyone else and comparing yourself to others. Enjoy being you. Relax and enjoy life. Stop following trends and be classy. That’s timeless.

  • Julie Flamand

    Dear 16 year old me:

Don’t stop exercising you will regret it later.

Wash your face every morning and night, you will thanks yourself! Sunscreen is your friend!

  • Sboz

Absolutely love your look, especially your hair color I’m going right out to do that to myself!

Hmmm, my sixteen year old self? There is so much I want to warn her about and yet tragically, I cannot. I would tell her to take better care of herself, embrace her naturally curly hair, and last but not least she looks best and will always look best-blonde.

  • chelsea underwood

I’d get myself a good straightener like I have now, cause I have naturally really curly and thick hair that I hate (and attempted to straighten once in high school and it didn’t work), and better jeans and clothes overall.

  • Leanne

I would tell myself to buy a dress rather than a t-shirt with writing on. What was I thinking! And that Dad really does know best.

    Love from South Africa

  • Chris

The intro of the video with the lipstick writing your name is great.

As an advice, i would tell my 16 year old self to have more confidence and think she’s beautiful, to go out more and also maybe start wearing day and night cream. Oh and to do more sports.

Beauty-wise, I’d tell myself to wash off ALL that black eyeliner and shadow I piled on every morning – it was not a good look! :-)

I’d also tell myself, like Lauren, to stop over-straightening my hair – it looked awful but I thought it looked great at the time!

Beauty Wise- I would tell my 16yr old self to keep up with being physically active… Don’t listen to your family about your weight & just appreciate yourself the way you are. I would also give her a high-five for using beauty masks routinely… they seemed to have really played a good role in all the compliments I get about my skin. I would also tell her not to keep dying her hair auburn & doing self hi-lights. I know the box says you can do it yourself & you’re creative, but people can tell! lol.

  • Tiffani Stuart

OH- also, you looked ah-mazing last night on Watch What Happens Live last night, Lauren! lol You were so lady-like & gracious! I didn’t expect any less! ;0)

  • Nicole Marinella

I would have never started dying my hair or wearing so much eye liner!

  • Lily P.

Haha I agree with the hair,I did that too!I would tell to my 16year old self to protect my skin by applying sunscreen more often!

  • Jessie H

Thank you for this! Pretty younger adults should post more things like this to give sense to young high school kids! Great advice :)

  • Kelby Peachey

I would tell my 16 year old me to grow out your hair and stop cutting it. It looks so much better long. :)

  • Diamenrose

wearing too much ponytails and much clothes which diguises me…

  • Mieke

    I just turned 15 haha.

But to my 12 year old me I would say that I had to stop plucking my eyebrows (yes, I did) because the space between my brows was way too big.. :s

  • Journey Fernandez

I would tell my 16 year old self to wash her face after school everyday!! The climate in my hometown was always really hot and humid, and my high school was up on a mountain so it would also get windy. There was tons of red dirt that would get blown around and get trapped all over my face and I didn’t really start taking care of my skin until my senior year. Just washing my face daily would have made a huge difference!

  • Dina Karivalis

I would tell myself to take better care of my skin. I’m 26 now and in 10 years you can damage your skin a lot!

    xo Dina

  • Erin Costello

So glad i started wearing sun screen and washing my face everyday! better late than never!

  • Little Urban Sweetheart

Terrified in 10 years that I’m going to look back and regret some of my fashion choices. :-)

  • Emilie

I actually did a really good job at managing my skincare and beauty in my teen years but I would probably advise just to keep my hair simple (and undyed)

If I could give my 16 year old self advice it would be to experiment with different shirts and jeans. I would also tell my middle school self to do the same thing and to try to put my hair up more often. The same thing goes for my elementary school self to do the samething.

  • Linh Ly

I’m 24 and would tell my 16 year old self to wear less make up and be more natural and love the way I look.

  • Sarah Osman

oohh well I would do exactly the opposite of what I was doing I was soo punckish and I would take a better care of my skin

  • Nathalia

I would tell my 16 year old self to actually confidently wear what she feels is stylish, instead of just wearing “”anything””, because ten years later, she will still like the same styles and also dare to wear them. And oh, don’t listen to your friends advice and don’t buy those ugly boots when you are 17, no matter what Stephanie says.

I’m 16 years old! I’m laughing about those regrets that would be hilarious ten years later haha.

  • MelLY

I would tell my 16 year old self to not worry so much about the way I look. I could’ve saved a lot of time getting ready for school and not be as nervous as I was back then.

  • Amanda G

16 year old me thought a sun burn made me look ‘cute’. 18 years later I wish I would have covered up because skin cancer is surely not ‘cute’

  • Shelby

I would tell myself stop cutting. Who am I kidding, I remind myself not to do that everyday even now.

    • Guest

I wish I could express myself with the right words, but you’re not alone in your struggle and there is always hope. No matter what. <3
