Shape Up: Get Beach-Ready Abs

How is everyone doing on the Bikini Boot Camp Plan? Whether you’ve been holding true to your new healthy routine or not, I wanted to share one of my favorite ab exercises with you today. I learned about this move from my trainer, Jarett del Bene. It’s called the bicycle crunch and it’s very simple and very effective.

Here’s how Jarett explains the move:

Lie on your back with your hands behind your head and your feet extended off the ground. In one continuous motion bring your right elbow to your left knee and then your left elbow to your right knee. Repeat till failure.

I challenge all of you to do 50 of these crunches today! Do two sets of 25 and get ready to feel the burn.

    Yes! This is a great challenge I””m willing to do! I used to do 100 crunches everyday when I was a cheerleader and you really do feel the burn! Great tips can’t wait to do my crunches!

    I have been doing these everyday because I’m doing your plan and they really make my abs burn!! lol This is a great exercise! I have been doing pretty well on your diet. The only thing is my boyfriend’s birthday was this weekend and I just couldn’t resist sharing cake with him. Oops:/ I have been having a couple of slip ups but nothing too bad. I have still been losing weight on this plan so I’m doing something right! lol. I plan to be more strict the next couple of weeks though. The birthday cake threw me off! Thanks Lauren:)

    I have been doing really well on the bikini bootcamp plan and have really surpised myself with how I’m eating, working out, and the weight I’m loosing. I’ve been at it for about a week and a half now and I’ve already lost 7 pounds! My goal is just to be at a healthier weight and be happier with my body in a 2 piece bikini.

    I have done the bicycle crunch before and definitely feel the pain! :) I am focusing on lifting and abs tonight, so I will most certainly take on doing 50 of these (and being prepared to feel sore all day tomorrow 😉 ) My other favorite ab work outs are ones I do during pilates and some that I do with a yoga ball. The most important thing I’ve learned to do when it comes to abs is to do “”backwards”” abs. On a yoga ball, you center your stomach on the ball, place your hands behind your head and raise your body up… this helps stretch the abs the other direction and this is what truly has led to a flat stomach for me!

    I’m in love with Planks because they work so many core muscles. Even though they look simple, they are a serious workout. I like to do Spidermen which is a plank pose and you bring your knee up to touch your elbow and alternating knees. It’s killer, but I feel amazing afterwards.

    i’m following your diet plan for a week now and i really see the results! at the beginning i couldn’t do 15 crunches and after a week of doing it every day i do it without a struggle. i hope i can do 50 one day! but i’m keep on doing this
