Wardrobe Refresh: 5 Winter Looks to Kick-Start Your Nine to Five

Winter may wreak havoc on your commute, but to keep it from sabotaging another aspect of your work life, we’re stepping in. To save you from the seasonal doldrums or the feeling of having nothing to wear when the snow and ice strike, we’re getting creative with our nine to five wardrobe routine. Think faux fur layers and shearling-lined booties to winterize your office gear; just remember that doesn’t mean there isn’t still a place for your pretty printed dresses and statement brights. Click through to see and shop five perfect antidotes to the season’s run-of-the-mill work ensembles.

Revamp your pencil skirt…
Give a pretty pencil skirt a wintry update in moody florals; then further the theme with a chunky knit and a pair of shearling-lined booties for that sophisticated-cum-cool effect.

Cinch your sweater…
Bundle up stylishly by adding a sweater coat to a girlie dress; just cinch at the waist and add a pair of seasonal boots to complete your cozy-chic office apparel.

Mix your textures…
If your office allows for a little more outfit creativity, take advantage with cool textures and prints. Add a classic white button-down to a chunky-knit cardigan and a little leather skirt. Stay warm with a pair of opaque tights and add interest with a pop of leopard-print.

Add a touch of luxe…
For more glamorous (but still accessible) office attire, we love dressing up a flowy wrap dress with a ’70s-inspired faux fur. Add in your luxest of leather totes and a pair of statement booties to liven up your corporate dress code.

Bring out your brights…
We love making brights work for Winter; this look is all about tying together standout color in timeless silhouettes. To finish it off, we’re a sucker for a sweet peep-toe-and-tights combo and a delicate piece of jewelry to dress it up.

Great tips! I agree with all of them, esp mixing textures- it’s one of the best parts about winter fashion!

  • Bonnie Schanck

I should probably be in fashion in some way. All of these things were very self explanatory to me. Haha :) I was hoping for some new tips, but there’s nothing here I haven’t already done for the past 5 years of my college and then working life :) Good to know I’m fashion forward and stylish! :)

I love the “”Cinch Your Sweater”” look. Its very me and I work in a casual office so its not too dressy. Love it!

  • Tiffani Stuart

I like the “”Mix your Textures”” look the most…I don’t really care for the others, although, I have a sneaking feeling that I would be able to appreciate it more, if they had a model wearing the ensembles. I think maybe I’d be able to understand the looks all put together.

  • Bonnie Schanck

I also LOVE the very first photo! SUCH a great outfit :)

  • Beth P

I love the cinch your sweater look–that’s a great tip!

  • Janice Campbell

Texture & brights are my kind of style! I love wearing bright colors & they are so hard to find in the winter, so I have to mix in my summer clothes & make it work. You can find lots of nice textured sweaters & boots for winter which are lots of fun! :)

  • Claire Levenberg

Soooo cute!!! Love all of them

  • Brianna Britto

Everything that you post is too expensive. Have any cute things that may be cheaper? It’s not racial to pay 600$ for a pair of shoes.
