Eco Chic: I’m Joining BlueAvocado

Now is the time to think green, which is why I have joined forces with an incredible company founded by three eco-minded women that’s on a mission to inspire others to reduce their eco footprint with “cool products for a hot planet.” The company is BlueAvocado. BlueAvocado offers sustainable lifestyle products such as shopping bags and lunch kits to replace all of the disposable items we use routinely use day to day (think plastic grocery bags, lunch baggies etc.). Aside from helping to save the planet, BlueAvocado is also working to enable more than 200 micro-loans to female entrepreneurs through the Whole Planet Foundation. Pretty impressive, right?

Here’s where I come in: I will be designing my own eco-collection, which will debut summer 2012! In addition to BlueAvocado’s hit shopping and lunching goodies, I will also be designing products for home storage, travel and cosmetic accessories.

I’m thrilled about this new partnership. To me, it represents a synergy of all the things I love to do–design great products, enable women to realize their dreams and inspire thoughtful action. After all, improving our home–our planet, our environment–is our responsibility and BlueAvocado is giving us the tools to be more sensible.

BlueAvocado is currently available at a wide range of retailers in the United States including The Container Store, Bloomingdale’s, Amazon.com and Whole Foods. It’s also available online! If you are looking for a green gift this holiday season, they are offering a discount just for you for 25% off – balc25. I’ll update all of you with a list of current retailers as soon as my collection is released next summer.
