Next Monday is my best friend's birthday. I don't want to give her the gift bought from shops, because I think the gifts from the shop can't give her a big surprise and can't express my wish for her. So, I decided to make a gift for her this year. I think it about for several days. I wondering if a gift made my myself can make her happier. Will it be honorable to give a gift that spend little money?

Handmade or deeply thought about gifts are always the best. One of my best friends makes jewelry, and for Christmas she made me two bracelets. And the fact that they're handmade definitely put them as my favourite gifts this past season.
I always buy gifts, but I also make them unique gifts that I know whoever they're for will love them.

Totally agree, think handmade gifts are an awesome way to go. "Experience" gifts are also great because it's something you can do together. Do a sushi making class together, or take her to a design your bag shop and let her pick the fabric and design the bag she wants. It's more memorable that way. I think that's a great idea. I love giving and receiving more personalized gifts like that. I like the idea of an "experience gift" too. That way you can do something fun together :)

If I were you I would make her a card with a picture of the two of you ( I always like to put mine together on http://www.treat.com/shop/birthday_cards.htm ) and then include a voucher for whatever activity you decide on. I'm sure she would love it :)
