Make-up brushes and acne

I have pretty acne prone skin and seem to always have break outs. I want to know what are the best brushes (brand and style) that will give me the best coverage in addition to hiding my pesky blemishes. Also, I am pretty good at cleaning my brushes to help to avoid acne but I do not think that I am doing it properly. What is the best and most sanitary method to cleaning make up brushes and how often should I be doing it?

For acne prone skin, you would want to stick to a brush set made of synthetic bristles. Check out Sephora's deluxe Antibactrial brush set (priced around $60). It has brushes for face and eyes. Synthetic bristles are less likely to harbor bacterial because the fibers are non-porous. As far as washing brushes, I would recommend washing your facial brushes at least once a week until your face starts clearing up. Eye brushes you can wash once a month, unless you use darker colors more often. Remember to avoid wetting the brush's ferrel (the metal part). And leave the brushes to dry overnight on a towel.

The bare essentials concealer brush works miracles for covering up pimples! It goes good along with the concealer by Bare Essentials, but you could also use your loose powder and put it on the tip of the brush. Just apply your concealer on the tip of the brush, and blend. Make sure you are avoiding liquid concealer which causes more breakout- use only powder concealer or even a lighter powder to cover up.
