- Exfoliate, exfoliate! I recommend Fresh's Brown Sugar Body Polish or making your own. A great scrub will slough away dead skin cells, leaving your legs polished and primed for increased moisturizer absorption. To make your own, simply mix together olive oil and sea salt with a squeeze of lemon juice until it's a thick paste.
- Moisturize. Twice a day–once in the morning (after you shower) and once at night before bed.
- Be mindful. Especially with what you put in your body! Before a big event and during the summer season I aim to really cut down my intake of salt and refined sugars. Staying hydrated is also really important if you want to reduce bloating and water retention.
- Lunge, lift and squat. To keep your legs lovely year round, get in the habit of squeezing in a few sets of lunges, leg lifts and squats every day. This will totally pay off come summertime.
- Keep it tan. Nothing slims your legs like a great tan! My favorite sunless tanner is by Kate Somerville, but I hear L'Oreal has great options too.
Speaking of sunless tanners, what's your go-to sunless tanning product?

I don't like tanning as much I used to, due to the fact that i believe that fair skin is very pretty but I also had the Victoria Secret stuff and it worked wonders. -
I have the same problem as Miss Rylee here, but however I have not tried any self tanners. I am not super pale, but I wouldnt want for one day my skin to look darker. I will definatley try to find this Victoria Secret one. Thanks for the great tip(;.
-
So I am really pale and I have always been afraid of self-tanners looking fake or streaky on me. All I really ever wanted was a summer glow, so when I found this I loved it!!! It is from Victoria Secret and is called Love Spell Bronze-Glow Body Lotion. It is the best thing ever, hope you enjoyed!!!

im indian so i already have brown skin, but i love getting a more natural looking tan! i love this suggestion for more toned legs, i already see a difference!
-
My skin lol since I'm African American, but I do like to lay in the sun a little bit just to get my skin clear and a little glow to it.
-
These are great tips! I'm pretty fair skin with a blue undertone. If there are any ladies who are similar skin type and have found a great product (that doesn't make them orange!) please, please let me know. :)

My go to sunless tanner is with out a doubt Sun. I think thats what it's called.
I have been using it for little off a month. It smells great and doesn't streak or come off while you sleep. That was one of my biggest problems. I also love Katie's Towelettes as well.
-
Great post, I have to keep my legs in shape or I really don't feel good about myself!
-
i like the St tropez tanner...but a cheaper option that i also like 9if you can get over the smell is the jergans daily tanning lotion.....
-
Mine is SObronze. It's amazing because it doesn't stain, stays on long, and doesn't smell, or streak. Love it.
-
St. Tropez bronzing mousse is amazing and fool proof! the base color is an olive, not an orange, tone and the results are natural and amazing.
-
For sunless tanning at home I love the Jergens Natural Glow daily moisturizer. It is great for a natural glow that gradually builds and most importantly lasts! If I am looking to be darker, I go to my salon for a spray tan that will last if you take care of it correctly! I love being tan but also being healthy at the same time so sunless tanning is the way to be!
-
great tips!! I always wonder how to make my winter legs ready for summer!
-
Shaving legs leaves my skin really dry & in need for a good moisturizer. Unfortunately almost all bodylotions I tried contain some sort of alcohol which stings like cuh-razy... Until a friend recently told me about pure coconut oil. It's lovely and leaves my legs beautifully soft :)
The organic virgin one is supposed to be best but I just have a standard pure one from a health store (expensive enough lol) and it's fantastic. Smells summery tropical too :)
As body scrub I use raw sugar mixed with olive oil... works wonders!
