Finally in Tanzania! Here are some photographs from the first few days of my trip... Enjoy!
First things first: Sleep!

Made a few new friends...

...including a baby elephant. I think I'm in love.

Next I was off to visit the Hard Life Artists Group. Check out their Facebook page by clicking here.

By the Hard Life Artists:

More friends!

Covered in bug repellent and clutching a mosquito candle...and yet, they still bite! Needless to say, I am having the best time.

I'll try to share more photos soon!
If you have any tips for keeping mosquitos away, let me know in the comments... I clearly need all the help I can get.

a dryer sheet works amazingly!!!!!!!!! use that! and that giraffe photo is GORGEOUS

Bounce dryer sheets! Put them in your pockets and it keeps them away while making you smell nice:) Also spraying mouthwash around you works really well. Great for when you're sitting outside for long periods of time.

Vitamin B.
Come summer time I try my best to take Vitamin B pill every day because I get bitten really bad and the bites swell up. There is something Vitamin B does, like it makes an odor or something like that (not one the human nose can smell) that mosqitos dont like. It doesnt stop them 100% but it sure does help!
hope that helps, have a safe and fun trip!

Don't eat too many bananas! I get eaten alive all the time and my boyfriend suggested to take it easy on the yellow fruit. hope that helps :)

Mhhh that advice probably comes too late... but next time take a lavender bag with you. I always had one close to my bed in Australia and it really keeps mozzies, bug and spiders at bay. They don't like the smell of it :) Plus, it helps you fall asleep!

Avon's Skin So Soft lotion is said to repel mosquitos but I'm not sure if you'll be able to get some in Africa...ha :)

Vitam B12 makes you smell bad for mosquitos!!! You can take it oral o you can put B12 in your body moisturizer (the liquid one). And keep using bug repellent and mosquito candle.

I am dying over that baby elephant. I've been obsessed with elephants since I was a little girl. They are such kind and gentle creatures. So jealous of you! Looks like you're having a fab time!! Thanks for sharing!

I don't think they have Odomos in Tanzania, since its an indian product, but this stuff helps. I recommend going to a local pharmacy and getting their products, since they are usually adapted to their own mosquitoes. And eat plenty of garlic and hot sauce, helped me a little. (They are just little vampires after all.)

I use antihistamin-pills for couple of days and then they don't like your blood as much. it usually works for me in the summer.
