This season there's no trend more fun than a fabulous pair of printed pants. Playful and colorful, these eye-catching bottoms will have you starting summer with a bang! Sure, the loud prints and bold patterns may seem a bit risky, but like most trends... it's all about learning the basic styling rules while adapting it to blend with your personal style. When it comes to styling your pretty prints opt for a solid colored blouse, letting your printed pants do all the fashion work for you.
For those of you weary about diving into the print pool, I suggest starting with a simple faded design, elevated by a top in a contrasting color. Craving to go bold? Be sure to choose a blouse that matches one of the colors in your pants to insure a beautifully blended look. As with most trends, balance is key, so when wearing harem pants or slouchy bottoms try sticking with fitted tops. For tight printed skinnies or leggings opt for oversized tops or even a blouse with a peplum for a trendy dash of fash. And last but not least, topping off your look with a killer shoe is always important. In my opinion printed pants always look best when styled with a strappy sandal like a cute flat or summery wedge. It's important to keep all of your outfits' elements as light and clean as possible when turning this bottom heavy runway look into an everyday ensemble. Follow these simple rules and you'll have everyone taking notice of you rocking this trendy summer staple!

Printed pants are amazing! I love Annas looks. You have to pair a printed trouser with a simple short or blouze so that the trouser is the higlight of the look!! Greetings from Germany :) XOXO

I'm loving the Polka Dot print from Forever 21 as well as the floral print from H&M. Thankfully tomorrow I get paid, because I think I'll have to make a trip to the mall this weekend! :-) Great tips Anna!

I think you have to be careful to pick a pair that reflect pants and not 'pajama pants'. I don't go bold in pants, but in skirts. I think these rules apply to that as well. :)
I currently have a craving for floral, pink, and polka dots. Oh ya, and white skinny jeans thanks to one of Anna's other posts here on LC! Do I dare put them together? You bet!! I'd love it if you would check out my combo on my blog. :)

Anna I love both looks, but I think number 2 is my personal favorite. I really like the solid navy top. You look beautiful. Oh and BTW, been watching your wedding post like a hawk. How did you come up with so many creative ideas? Please plan my wedding. After I find a guy. lol

Anna your combinations look perfect. You have to compare a printed pants with an unicolored short :) Still perfect. Love your looks!! xoxo

My favorite is definitely the Polka Dot pants from Forever 21! They're the most that are my style! I also love the Rachel Roy Palazzo pants, as well! And the cute floral ones you're wearing in the top photo! I'm not sure that I'll be doing this trend, this go around. I'm short & round.. This might not be the best thing for me to try, when I'm working on losing more weight! lol
