I don't know about you, but I'm a fan of decorating for the winter holidays after Thanksgiving. Walking into stores in mid-October only to be ambushed by faux snow, red bows and life-size wreaths is a bit ridiculous. Whatever happened to living in the moment? Needless to say, now that it's officially December, I think it's entirely appropriate to finally deck the halls for the holidays!
Without further ado, here are a few of my favorite holiday decor ideas courtesy of your fellow LaurenConrad.com members and a few my favorite websites...
I'm a sucker for glittery things, which is why I adore Martha Stewart's Glittered Deer Table Decorations:

I love the smell of pinecones and this idea from Sweet Paul is a brilliant way to incorporate them into your home during the winter season:

This idea comes from member Sarah Teutsch. Wrap up surfaces, such as your fireplace mantle, to add a fun but festive touch to your room:

I like to mix in fun colors for the holidays. While red, white and green may reign supreme, these multi-color DIY Seed Bead Ornaments via Kaboose are an easy way to add some extra color to your holiday:

Try grouping together your favorite holiday themed accessories like nutcrackers, jars of festively colored candy and mini tress to create a gorgeous yet cheerful wintertime table spread:

Make a pretty centerpiece wreath like member Petra Zeller featured on her blog, Sweets of Life:

I was at Anthropologie a few days ago and spotted the cutest idea that would be very easy to replicate at home: Mason Jar Snow Globes! I think it might be cute to use the Glittered Deer Table Decorations as alternative filler:

When it comes to holiday décor, I go by the philosophy "the sparklier, the better," which doesn't always mean glitter has to be in the mix. When I came across Hayeseed Homemakin's DIY for Firefly Christmas Lights, it was love at first sight:

Every year I like to make my own wreath for the door. I spotted this sweet idea to add the house number on Teach Craft Love and am planning to make my very own Front Door Wreath this weekend:

First up for me is the front door wreath...

So I got pretty excited by the whole make your own wreath idea... I made one for inside as a decoration for my "white" christmas illusion dinner party (I live in Australia we try to create the illusion of cold in the heat of summer) So far it is a hit with my friends... check it out what do you think? ... http://www.laurenconrad.com/photo/view/36415/3158/14203/1

I made the Glitter Deer Table Decorations, except I used different animals, and made them into tree ornaments. I used silver and gold extra fine glitter, and basic Elmer's glue. LOVED making them too.

Does anyone know where I can buy the amazing Nutcrackers which are pictured with the lollies and feathery trees? Or if there are any similar available online?

I love the wrapping of surfaces idea! Every year, my mom and I wrap up picture frames and doors we have in our house with festive wrapping paper, so it looks like there's a big present hanging above the fireplace, or a lifesize present which is actually the closet door!

I agree about only celebrating one holiday at a time! The Holiday season goes by way too quickly to begin with. Why rush it?! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year Lauren xo

That front door wreath is so beautiful! I also love the firefly lights. I'll check them out. Thanks Lauren!

Best of all is the pinecone and ribbon door decoration! Anyone can afford to do this. If you don't have pinecones in your neighborhood to pick up for free, then you can buy a package for about 4.00 at your local craft store. Almost any ribbon will work. If you are like Lauren (and me!) you can spray those pinecones gold or silver (easy to do if you put the cones in a brown paper bag and spray them in there - no mess!) or use a little glue and glitter. All very inexpensive, but a great luxe look - or a totally natural one.
Happy Decorating Everyone!

I love the glittery reindeer. I can never get enough glitter this time of year. The beaded ornaments would make great gifts to give to friends and family, you could make each one different and special. Thanks for all the great ideas!
