If you have a tough time sticking to a healthy diet, I suggest keeping a food diary. It may sound like a crazy nit-picky thing to do, but it really helps. Even if you do it for just one week, you realize what you are (or are not) putting into your body. Furthermore, it's been said that people who keep a food journal tend to lose more weight than those who do not. It makes sense when you think about it. After all, those cookies and sugary Frappuccino's don't look so appetizing when they are staring back at you in ink...
If the pen and paper method is not for you, there are actually several great apps you can use to track your daily food intake. They are really easy to use and have a huge database of food and their calories. A few of my favorites include Calorie Tracker app, Calorie Counter, and Lose It.
How is everyone doing with my Bikini Boot Camp Plan? If you're having trouble sticking to the plan, try this trick and let me know how it works out for you. (Better yet, include your workouts in your diary as well.)
Do you have any helpful tips to keep you on track for a healthier lifestyle?
XO Lauren

Keep a Food Log to Keep Slim and Healthy Fit for more information

Keep a Food Log – Following a fixed timetable for meals could be a more effective process of dieting than attempting to cut out fatty foods, say experts. People who snack on healthy food can put on fat if their eating styles are not maintained... -
I've been trying to lose weight now for a while and I just never have enough motivation. My boyfriend has recently challenged me to run 30 miles in a month and if I do he'll buy me a book. Little rewards are the best kinds of motivation... it seems to be working for me.

I love my fitness pal app. If your food isn't in there food catelog, you can scan the bar code and it automatically updates it! GENIUS!! No counting, no thinking, just RECORDING!

i love this tip, although for me, my problem is getting into the habit of filling out the journal everyday. but when i do, i can see how good/bad i've been eating and then change my behavior! very helpful. also helps to write down exercises because it can serve as motivation seeing how much work youre doing!

I love your bikini boot camp! I'm not sure I can keep up with writing down what I eat though, I've tried things like that before but I usually end up forgetting to do it.

Love that you posted this. I've been using myfitnesspal.com for over a year now and it's amazing. I have it on my iphone so I can record what I eat right before I eat it.

This is great! I actually DO write down what I eat EVERY DAY. I am a Lifetime Member of Weight Watchers and I have lost 30 pounds and am at goal. (: Keeping track of what you are eating and your exercise is so fun and actually easy!

I've tried the food diary thing, but it was just one more extra thing that took up my time, so it didn't really work for me.
My best tip on eating healthy is to plan your meals and have the food readily available. If I plan my meals for the week, prepare it ahead of time and not buy any other food for the house, I'll end up eating that healthy meal that I prepared ahead of time.
For me personally, this works the best. Otherwise you just reach for anything when you're starving.

I am officially a week through your Bikini Boot Camp- and honestly never felt better! I love eating healthy and doing my daily exercises and I feel happier about myself which is the main thing. Im only on day two of bikini camp; anyway, I did write out a meal plan for the next 10 days inculding breakfast snacks lunch dinner and desert. so far so great. Im sticking to the plan and since I already know what Im eating Im not thinking about food so no cravings. If I do change the menu i update my chart so this kind of works as a food dairy :)

I've been doing this for years and it's amazing how much stuff you didn't realize you ate!

I've been using loseit.com and the Lose It! app for two weeks now and have noticed a fantastic shift in how I view everything I eat. My fiance is using it too, and we're both an open book to each other about how much we've eaten and how much we've exercised. Having an app stare back at me and I see exactly how many calories that cookie from Subway actually is, I now think twice about eating high calorie junk food. I was a fairly healthy eater before, but through loseit.com, I realized that I just ate too much of it. I've already lost over six pounds in two weeks. Great post, Lauren!
