New Style Trend to Try: Floral Pants +Tees

You can't really think of Spring without thinking of florals – and in addition to wearing the print on dresses and tops, we're loving the way it looks in a pant too. We saw the look on the Spring runways from designers like Vivienne Tam, Peter Som, Richard Chai Love, and more – and it might just be one of our favorite combinations for the coming season. The look just screams Spring, and although it isn't for the sartorially timid, it's a fun, fresh way to wear prints. If you're feeling fearful about how to pull it off, there are a few tips to keep in mind:
- The best way to try the look is in a style that you would wear otherwise. If you're a denim enthusiast, there are a ton of floral-print jeans on the market, from Paige Denim, 7 For All Mankind, and Current/Elliott. If you're more of a trouser girl, opt for some of the awesome picks from ASOS and J.Crew.
- Ease into it by keeping things solid up top. You'll look totally chic (not to mention effortless) if you pair your florals with a solid tee and heels – and go easy on the accessories!
- Think about your body. If you're petite, you'll want to go with a smaller pattern; if you're tall, you can get away with a bolder, large-scale design. Either way, pick a color combo that can easily blend into your current wardrobe.
Edge it up...
Floral pants don't have to be all sweetness and frou-frou; you can edge them up with a cheeky tee, printed heels, and a tough-girl spike necklace. Extra points if you throw on a leather jacket.
Pamela Love Bronze and Quartz Necklace ($575), Zoe Karssen Boys Tee ($105), Topshop Tropical Slim Trousers ($90), Loeffler Randall Dita Platform Pump ($425)
Keep the jeans...
If denim's your thing, you'll love these pretty, subtle floral jeans – pair them with a bright yellow pocket tee, suede heels, and hipster-cool tortoise shell shades.
Dasha for Illesteva Leonard Round-Frame Sunglasses ($295), Rag & Bone The Pocket Tee ($105), Carven Open-Toe Suede Slingbacks ($535), Citizens of Humanity Mandy Printed Jeans ($190)

Go from day to night...
Floral pants can easily be worn out at night, as long as you dress them up with the right accoutrements – mix things up with a striped tee, then add a sleek leather clutch and ankle-strap heels.
APC Fancy Mariniere Tee ($165), toile Isabel Marant Jerry Floral Pant ($415), Alexander Wang Liya Suede Pump ($485), Proenza Schouler Evening Clutch ($1,175)
Florals for the workplace...
Shake up your workwear rut with a pair of cheery floral trousers. Keep things streamlined and office-appropriate with a black blazer, leather pumps, and a chic statement necklace.
BaubleBar Deco Noir Necklace ($42), Dolce & Gabbana Floral-Print Pants ($675), Christopher Kane Neon Jersey T-Shirt ($190), Vince Camuto Heath Pump ($98), Karl James Satin Twill-Trimmed Crepe Blazer ($310)
Stay chic and comfy...
Hooray, it's the weekend! Flex your chic brunching and shopping muscles in a slouchy pair of pants and short-sleeved knit tee. Play it cool and casual with a pair of lace-up sandals, stud earrings, and a pretty crossbody bag.

Topshop Chunky Stitch Crop Tee ($64), Tucker Printed Silk Pants ($320), Marc Jacobs Tie-Up Leather Sandals ($645), R.B. of McD #5 Shoulder Bag ($480), Topshop Double Arrow Studs ($12)
Which look is your favorite?

I think this is a really cute trend. I can definitely see myself doing this as long as it doesn't look too 80's or DJ Tanner!
