Earlier this year, I made some "green" resolutions. And I am pleased to say that I have stuck with them. Personally, I am a firm believer that awareness breeds change and since Earth Day is coming up on April 22nd, I figured now is a great time for our community to band together and spread the word about simple ways you can live a greener lifestyle.
How are you going to lead a more eco-friendly lifestyle this month? Tell me by pledging below:
I'll check back in with all of you later this month to see how you did!
Did you make a pledge to a greener lifestyle this month? If so, let me know what you are going to do in the comments below!

Happy (almost) Earth Day!
XO Lauren

I pledged to be more eco-friendly as well. These are a couple of my attempts:
paper clip holders from soda bottles

I've been drinking out of mason jars & old spaghetti sauce jars for almost 2 years now; I cannot remember the last time I bought a plastic bottled water - what a rip off & so bad for the environment. Love the eco chic posts on this blog, Lauren! Keep it up :)

Every summer I plant a vegetable garden so that I have my own vegetables for salads. I also always use a reusable water bottle!

My fiancé and I try to be as green as possible. We recycle, car pool to work, use reusable water bottles, bags and lunch/food containers. We also never buy paper plates and try to use cloth napkins instead of paper. We buy from a local organic company called Off the Vine and we have also planted our own small vegetable and herb garden this year, which we used an old book case and trunk as planters. I just need to work harder on unpluging electronics.

PERFECT POST!
I have actually been on board with the green for a little while now, in fact! My wedding is on Earth Day! Not only because it is our anniversary, but to celebrate the day in Style! Our wedding is eco themed, everything from plantable favors, to requests on our website to carpool to least impact carbon footprinting. The invitations that I designed are even printed in recycled ink on recycled paper, we went all out for the cause/special day! I am also growing my own succulents, for my bouquet!!! I have really enjoyed planning and seeing everything come together, I will post pictures of my big day SOON! :))
I use reusable bottles, and bags.
Unplug electronics when not in use.
And garden!
Every little bit Counts!

I think it's so great that you're trying to help raise awareness! There are so many little things all of us can do in our everyday lives. I have been a vegetarian for over ten years and was raised to recycle. Nowadays, in my own apartment, I try not to waste energy and water, I always bring my own grocery bag and have a reusable water bottle, I buy my groceries at a local farmer's market, ...
Thanks for sharing this! I really enjoy your homepage.
Cheers from Austria :)

Very refreshing post, I opted to use reusable bags and water bottles. I am also a big recycler.. I even leave a bag for people at work (we do not have recycling) to put bottles in and I take them home to recycle.
Best,
Casey

yay for going green! I have planted some flowers and have stopped using water bottles. It is insane how much money I save on the water bottle alone. I use the brita filter now.

Great post!
I'll do all those things everyday :)
I walk a lot for short journey, I use liquid soap 100% biodegradable, I recycle my rubbish, I reuse my shopping bag again and again, I use demake-up 100% biodegradable, I didn't got chewing-gum since 3years, ...

Here in Taiwan it's mandatory to recycle almost everything, which I think is great! My boyfriend and also only use public transport.
This month, I will reuse my shopping bag and try to use less electricity! :-)

I would like to think of myself as being eco. I recycle, take my own bags to go shopping, and I aslso shop at my farmers market (buy locoal!). But I do tend to drive a lot. So I am trying to cut back on that this week.

My husband and I are starting our own fruit, vegetable, and flower garden. We're having an entire section dedicated to our strawberry patch. In the coming weeks I'll be posting our pictures on my blog. Speaking of my blog, its my Blog-o-versary, with a giveaway!! :)

It's so easy to be eco-friendly with little tips like this ! ;) Challenge of the month : do the five ! It's gonna be easy : I have no car, shops here are giving less and less plastic bags, I already use reusable bottles, and I have 10 trees that are gonna be planted with a beautyshop adherence card ... The most difficult will be to remember to unplug things after I used them ^^
