Crafty Creations: DIY Cake Stand
If you're thinking about giving away old glassware that might not match the rest of your home decor, hold that thought: this Crafty Creation will inspire you to make something new out of your mismatched items. My DIY cake stand is not only simple to make, it's versatile too. You can give it as a gift or use it to show off your baked goods, Halloween sweets, savory appetizers, or even jewelry and candles. To recap, here's what you will need:
- a plate
- base of your choice (candle holder, martini glass, ramekin etc.)
- industrial strength glue
The steps are simple and the end product is too sweet to pass up. I love the idea of spray painting the finished piece to make it one solid color.

I used a candlestick from Ikea and a round cake board and then painted it all one colour. Next time i'm going to try using a upside down ceramic Quiche pan. -

I took a cake stand and I put in colored stones and a candle. It is now a center piece on my grandmothers dining room table. I also made one for my dads mom but for that one I put in river rocks with white pebbles and fake flowers.

That is actually really handy to store nail polish, or even to place like daily make up products in a vanity or the bathroom, that way it's easier to see the products and it looks really pretty. XX
