Beauty Essential: My Favorite Concealer

Aug 10, 2011 at 7:46am by Lauren Conrad

I discovered Cle' de Peau after a nasty sunburn left me with discolored skin. (Wear your sunscreen and floppy hats, ladies!) While a small tube will set you back a pretty penny, it's proved well worth the splurge for me. Also, you only use a small amount at a time so one tube will last you a while. If you have the funds, I highly recommend treating yourself to this amazing concealer. I never leave home without out it and the coverage is insanely good.

Pick up your Cle' de Peau at Barneys.com.

Or for a prettier price, I suggest checking out Secret Camouflage by Laura Mercier at Sephora.

What concealer do you use?

XO Lauren

Dior Nude concealer. Its light and airy but still covers up sports and dark circles. its also a tiny bit illuminating so it makes my skin glow. i match it with Dior Forever foundation.

Lemonaide by Benefit under a thick concealer (for me Bobbi Brown) covers my dark circles under my eyes (food allergies and seasonal allergies leave me looking scary!). They stay put well and dont smudge or cake!

I love Benefit Play Stick for really good coverage, it's so easy to blend too. See the rest of my make-up essentials here:

Cover FX everything. It's animal friendly, dermatologist recommended, and just so good. Great coverage and the only stuff I've found that's pale enough and not yellowed out. Love it.

I have to say I know it's common, but this is a really great site, and Lauren, I have a great respect for everything you do. For the people that come on here just to repost websites, it's rude.

Unfortunaltely, that's part of the internet, but unfortunate when we come on to follow interesting ie. fun:) posts. I'd much rather talk about concealer::)!!!

I have always had the darkest circles under my eyes...even as a kid.

THE ONLY product that has ever worked, and I am complimented all the time on my makeup, is Mac's Prolongwear Concealer, Cache-Cernes. I put a little on with either a Mac 191 "paint brush" which is straight edged; MAC people love this brush as it gets exactly under where you want it. I went back to my other brush, the Mac Foundation brush, #190. Sometimes, I will use my finger and press on the inside and kind of underneath the corner of my eye, but rarely need to do that.

THe brushes and product work perfectly.

I moreover do this AFTER I have put on all my eye makeup.

I do this no matter what look I'm going for..matte, smokey, etc.

Either way, I'm going to touch up something, as my eyes are key for me.

When I do dab this product onto my face, with the brush, just above the cheek bone I then go back and forth and slowly get to underneath the ege.

Whatever is left on the brush goes over my nose, and upper lip area...anywhere there is indentation on my face.

      THis will create depth.

By this time, I will already have washed, moisutrized my face with a suncreen, and also have put another sunblock on my face.

I find this to be personal.

I've been using the same product for over 25 years so I know it works on my face.

      It's California Tan 30.

On my neck and body, I will also use the 100 Neutrogena spray.

The concealer comes only in 9ml, which sounds like nothing, but it lasts forever.

You just have to get used to how to use the pump:)

Bare essentials is a really nice foundation. It's pure powder so it's very lite and leaves a nice finish. It was a full coverage. It's super easy with no mess.

I use Clinique All about Eyes concealer.

Its really great because it seems to depuff your eyes and has a tint in all the shades they offer that counters the blueish tint in dark circles. Plus-- its really moisturizing.

There are so many great suggestions. I wish makeup wasn't so expensive. I am the type who doesn't really stick with what I love. I will probably try the majority of concealers you girls listed :)

I am currently using Makeup Forever HD and it is my favorite!

I picked up this baby few months ago. Totally agree with you, it's the best. You only need so little for great coverage.
