Hey everyone! It’s Katrina and Karena here from Tone It Up. Today we’re going to tell you about why apple cider vinegar is an absolute staple in our diets. Not only is it inexpensive and easy to find, it’s also filled with a whole lot of body benefits for our bodies. It’s a great way to boost your metabolism and a very healthy way to charge up your immune system. Here are a few reasons why we know you’ll fall in love with apple cider vinegar just like we have:

  • It keeps you slim. Studies show that apple cider vinegar helps to regulate your blood sugar levels. This is an essential component of getting lean and staying lean. If your blood sugar levels are spiking and plummeting (simple starches like white bread, and sugary snacks will cause this) your body will store fat and increase your risk for diabetes and heart disease.
  • It aids in weight loss. Not only is apple cider vinegar rich in important enzymes that help your body to detox, it can also keep you feeling full longer and control your appetite. This means no more crazy snack attacks!
  • It keeps your body balanced. It’s super important to get your body back to its healthy PH balance if you enjoy coffee and the occasional cocktail. The acetic acid in apple cider vinegar balances your PH levels to help keep your body alkaline (which is a good thing!). Why is this awesome? A balanced, more alkaline body means better immune function and increased energy. Yes, vinegar is acidic, but don’t let that mislead you.     I like to drink a shot of it, mixed with lemon juice, before a meal. :) For weight loss, it works best with a diet of fish and fresh fruits and vegetables.

    I usually drink it one to three times a day. I mix it with a glass of water, 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar and either 2 teaspoons of honey, or a Nu Stevia packet.

    Here’s some extra info to fill in the gaps!

    Apple cider vinegar also calms upset stomachs or stomach problems like acid reflux.
    More long-term, it can prevent osteoporosis- fighting the harm that carbonation from soft drinks causes!

    If you can’t stomach it shot-like, start by adding a couple teaspoons per 16 oz of water. Even just a few drops in your water can make a big difference!

    Drinking my apple cider vinegar concoction (water, green tea, lemon slice, sometimes a sweetener, and 2-3 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar) as I read this! It really helps curb my appetite and my body feels slim and detoxed after drinking it. I recommend to everyone.

    Perfect! Thank you for reminding me :) I just got back from a long trip and found apple vinegar in my pantry, wondering what I would need it for. Your article also made me remember that I used to use it as a skin toner. Dilute it with some water and use it at night after washing your face and prior to applying your night lotion. It is great for those times that you have a breakout as it disinfects the skin in a mild way!

    I started using apple cider vinegar a little while ago. I put a couple of tables spoons in my morning smoothie and use it to make my own basil vinaigrette salad dressing. It so good, there a few recipes on the net. Its super easy and is basically olive oil, apple cider vinegar, garlic and some chopped basil.

    Vinegar is one of my favorite flavors. (Weird huh?) My favorite simple salad which can be made with any vinegar is – sliced cucumbers with a Splash of vinegar and a little soy sauce. This was my go to snack as a child.

    I add just a touch of honey and lemon to mine. I drink a shot a day from a regular size shot glass.
    Make sure and brush your teeth and use mouth wash you drink the vinegar. It can break down the enamel from your teeth.

    There is a great book you can buy online that has really great information about all the benefits of ACV. You can also buy their Bragg’s ACV at most local grocery stores.


    Totally! ACV is the best! I just did a post on it as well. I love the taste, and have one first thing in the morning – even before coffee!

    I drink a tablespoon and a half in a 12 ounce cup, top it up with two thirds cold water and the rest with organic unsweetened apple juice. The trick for me is to make sure my juice and water are really cold, I find it much easier to drink if its cold. I also drink it with a straw to avoid damaging my teeth. I drink this every day and when I miss a few days I find myself craving ACV desperately!!

    I slice a tomato, sprinkle it, lightly, with salt and pepper, then sprinkle a tablespoon or two of apple cider vinegar (depending on the size of the tomato). Refreshing and filling and tastes great!

    My dad, who is in his late 50’a started this trend about five years ago. He wanted a lifestyle change and to be more healthy, be more fit, and also, be at a healthy weight. He doesn’t spend money on crazy pills or fad supplements. He simply drinks apple cider vinegar daily, has awesome fruit smoothies filled with antioxidants, cayenne pepper, olive oil, and to my surprise it tastes great! He has only caught a cold once in those five years and he has kept the weight off. He lost over 90 lbs. and did it by changing his habits and exercise.     NO, don’t take it in a shot glass or straight. SMH. Start with a teaspoon of it mixed into some cold orange juice or grapefruit juice. It gives a zing, a burst of flavor. Its actually tasty.

    My friend swears by this! I had an awful experience when I tried it her way (1/2 apple cider vinegar and 1/2 water in a shot glass to take quickly). But I tried it with 1tsp in a full glass of water (about 8 oz). Can still taste it, but it is away easier to take! I am excited to add this into my daily routine!

    If you are having any stiffness in your fingers, more like arthritis etc, this is a good remedy- 1 tsp of Bees Honey , 1 tsp Apple Cider vinegar & 1 tsp Tang, first you would get a mug and warm your water for a few seconds add the bees honey and stir then add the vinegar & Tang and drink it everyday you will notice that it helps a big deal.

    Salad: Large cucumber,small onion and tomato…chop them all up fine and add enough applecider vinegar and a little olive oil to marinade them in and salt/pepper to taste. So delicious and healthy!

    I use apple cider vinegar as a conditioner. I put one cup into a water bottle with two cups of water then rinse it through my hair in the shower. It doesn’t leave your hair smelling like vinegar. It leaves my hair shiny and smooth! I like using natural products rather than store bought ones that contain chemicals so this is a great alternative.

    Apple Cider Vinegar is beyond wonderful. In addition to everything the others have posted, it also helps treat and cure yeast infections and most topical skin fungi. If there’s ever something funky that pops up on my skin, whether it’s a pimple, cut, or anything else, I use Apple Cider Vinegar first and it is noticeable better within several hours and clears up completely in a couple days :)

    I drink it everyday in the morning before I eat anything. I drink 8 oz.of water with 2 tbsp.of the apple cider vinegar. It does take a while to get used to it, I normally do not breathe when drinking it because I have sensitive nose but its not an excuse. I have a super weak immune system and would get sick about 4-6 times a year but once I started to drink the vinegar (and I’m not exaggerating when I say) I have not gotten sick at all since I began drinking it. I do feel that I’ve become dependent on it but who cares its a natural and organic product that has tons of benefits for my body! Drink up ladies!
