The Trend: 3 Tips for Creating a Cozy Home

I am excited to announce that throughout the month of April I will the Guest Editor for E! Online’s The Trend! For my second post, I put together this blog about simple ways to create a cozy and comfortable atmosphere in your home! Here’s a sneak peek of my newest post…

There’s a reason why someone thought up the phrase, “Home Sweet Home.” Your home is the primary place where you live, eat, learn, love, and grow. Not only should your decor reflect your personality and taste, it should present you with a space that is stylish and comfortable as well. I have always loved discovering simple and inexpensive tricks for brightening up my décor, and today I’m going to share a few ways to do just that. Without further ado, here are three ways to add a special touch to your home…

1. Hang your frames.
Don’t let a blank canvas go to waste! Go ahead and hang your art and photos on the walls for a splash of life and color. And if you are noticing that your framed pieces are beginning to pile up, try making a wall collage. (Just be sure to read my tips first by clicking here!)

2. Add punchy pillows.
One of the easiest ways to instantly update your décor is by investing in a few new accent pillows. Whether your bed is in need of a little boost or the couch could use a makeover, throw pillows have the ability to change the entire look of the room. Opt for a colorful cluster of different shapes and sizes this spring. Chances are the change will leave you feeling inspired and refreshed.

    Hi Lauren,
I think you might be missing a word in your introductory statement: “”I am excited to announce that throughout the month of April I will the Guest Editor for E! Online’s The Trend!”” You will be?

Either way, congratulations, and I can’t wait to read your blogs! Thanks for all of the great tips and tricks :)

I agree with you ,a stylish and comfortable home can make us have a good motion, and also can leave a good impression on others when they come to visit our home.

Finally a little post about cozy homes. Although I am a fan of the clean look, big white candles, lots of pictures (preferably framed in a diversity of matching/mismatching frames) and pillows…

Another aspect that is always important for me are plants. They make me feel happy and I love to unwind while doing my little “”water round”” ;)

So, again thanks for sharing. Keep it coming!

I just moved into my “”first apartment”” recently, and it’s tiny! It literally is a two-person apartment with big furniture and little walking space. I love that I have a “”mahogany”” thing going on but I’m getting a little tired of the same old decor and same old dark color. I keep looking at all your decorate pictures but I’m not sure of the specifics of how to get that look. Or even something DIY? I just want to splash some color all over my apartment without damaging any of my household items! :)
