How To: Mix & Match Your Wristwear

How To: Mix & Match Your Wristwear

Like a lady’s purse, a woman’s wrist can tell you her style story in an instant. One can assume that an arm dripping in studded bangles and fringed wristlets belongs to a girl who likes to live on the edge, while a wrist daintily adorned with a sleek watch and a thin crystal band is someone who prefers to keep things simple. No matter what your wristwear says about you, putting it all together isn’t exactly easy. Some might say it’s an art…

Ever since I was in high school, I have always loved to pile my wrists with my favorite jewels and flea market finds. From golden dipped bangles to crystal-encrusted cuffs, I love it all. Mixing and matching them together came to me quite easily so I’ve decided to share a few of my best pointers on how to mix up a winning combination below…

How To: Mix & Match Your Wristwear

Classic. Opt for clean lines and geometric shapes. Don’t be afraid to mix metals for a touch of surprise. Personally, I think this is a nice look for the office since it isn’t too distracting.

Feminine. The more sparkle, the better! Here’s what I suggest: Pair two of your favorite statement pieces together. Then add in a third piece that’s a bit more dainty and understated to keep the look grounded.

Edgy. Think studs, chains, and more studs! Mixed metals have a very subversive vibe, so mix away and don’t be afraid to add in a few leather pieces to tone it all down.

Mixed Up. If you are an eclectic gal, mix them all up! I love to do this for more casual outings. Just be sure to pile on pieces with different widths and textures.

Which style is your favorite? I can’t decide!

For work I need to wear a watch everyday so I am definitely rocking the classic look a lot. Sometimes a rose gold watch with a bangle. Other days a simple black watch with lots of different black little stretchy or rope bracelets. On my blog we recommend little bracelets a lot as great gifts. Hi Lauren,

I was wondering if you guys can do an article about belts. I have notice some new trends in the runway this week and I’m so curious about those metal/mirror belts that looks so chic with everything.

    Thanks

I love the feminine look. Could you tell us where those bracelets are from? Also, when do you know it’s all too much? I always try different things but end up taking it all off because I feel silly and over dressed.

  • Monica_in_Heels

    I can’t pick I love them all…

However if I absolutely had to pick, I’d go with classic and/or feminine.

Definitely the classic one. But I have to type all day, so I always just wear a flat watch, because everything else just dangles on the keyboard.

  • Sarah Cornett

My favorite is the feminine look! I love the way a dainty bracelet downplays the statement pieces to make the combination less overpowering.

I always go for an edgy look for, shoes denim, handbags, tops, and accesories, lastyear I was so in to studs and spikes,it will be my edgy finishing touch to my every day outfit, this spring I’m trying to tone it down with black and go for a sheer and neon colors, and for this sping I will try the classic for accesories.xoxoxo

I like the feminine stack! I did a post awhile ago as well on the “practical” side of bracelet stacking… you know, so you aren’t the person making the “clink” noises in the office: http://beautyandsass.com/2014/01/30/the-practical-side-of-bracelet-stacking/
