How To: Wrap a Perfect Present

How To: Wrap a Perfect Present
So you have the perfect gift but you’re not sure how to wrap it—err, perfectly…this is where I come in. For most of us, the days of having our mothers wrap all of our holiday gifts are long gone. And while throwing something in a bag with some tissue paper is quick and easy, there’s something to be said about spending a little extra time to wrap your gifts the old-fashioned way. Without further ado, here’s my quick and easy guide to wrapping like a pro:

How To: Wrap a Perfect Present

And there you have it…

As for materials, I typically like to keep it simple. I usually use butcher paper and baker’s twine along with some pom poms or tinsel, and I finish it off with a handmade gift tag. I also love to use newspaper (pages with words only though) with brightly colored ribbon (Midori has a great selection). That said, regardless of the materials you decide to use, what really counts is the fact that you were thoughtful enough to take the time to wrap the present yourself.

Do you have any tricks for wrapping a perfect present? What materials do you like to use?

Happy wrapping!

XO Lauren

I love wrapping gifts! I find that cutting straight and folding really crip edges is what makes a great-looking gift :)

Great post! Nice wrapping makes the present that much better. I’m not a fan of bagging my gifts either.. unless they have an awkward shape.
I love the suggestion of folding the edges for a more finished look. I will def be doing that this wrapping season!

i also love wrapping gifts. i find it so much fun and actually kind of relaxing! :) i like to use glittery ribbon and a plain color wrapping paper and i try to color coordinate my gifts so they all look nice together under the tree.

when I was young, I used to giftwrap with empty cereal boxes and making them into gift bags with old necklaces as handlers. My family used to love my wraps :)

I already perfectly wrap my boxes that exact same way haha, but I suck at doing the ribbon part (not the cutting ends part), i wish I had more info on that
