Keep Your Furniture Looking Beautiful

Nurturing and protecting your skin is part of your daily routine. You love it and want it to look healthy, so you care for it. Kind of a no brainer. But what about your furniture? You put a lot of time and thought into picking the perfect pieces. Maybe you bought them new or found the cutest coffee table just sitting on the side of the road. Either way, if you want your furniture to look its best and last for years, consider giving it a beauty routine of its very own. Furniture’s beauty routine mirrors beauty care regimes like sunscreen and concealers, including: cleansing, polishing and, of course, covering those tiny imperfections.

  1. Remove the dust. Use a non-scratch cloth, like the Guardsman Ultimate Dusting Cloth, to lightly remove dust once a week.

  2. Clean up your furniture. Can you remember the last time you gave it a good scrub? The Purifying Wood Cleaner by Guardsman is the perfect furniture facial. It quickly removes dirt, grime, fingerprints, food and beverage stains, and films on wood.
  3. Now that it’s clean, it’s time to polish & revitalize. When you use Guardsman’s revitalizing Wood Polish with UV protection, you’re enhancing your wood’s natural luster and helping banish the effects of time by concealing fine surface scratches. It also helps to protect your furniture from sun damage.

These Guardsman products only cost around six to seven bucks each, so it doesn’t take much to show your furniture some love.

The secret to beautiful furniture is simple… “Stop Cleaning. Start Caring҄’” That’s why Guardsman has teamed up with TV design star Tracy Hutson to help spread the word. You could win a $1,500 room re-accessorizing and shopping experience with Tracy, along with a suite of Guardsman products.

Go to to share a story about your favorite piece of furniture and make a promise to care for it in the same way you care for other things you love. Hutson will select one lucky winner with the best furniture story.

To launch the campaign, Guardsman is donating $25,000 to Habitat for Humanity to help build simple and affordable homes in partnership with low-income families.

Are you ready to show your furniture what its been missing? You don’t have to tend to it everyday like you do your skin, but don’t wait until it’s too late. Coffee tables don’t like blemishes or spots either.

This seems so lovely. That vanity is darling. But I’m a little caught off guard that you have to consent to and pass a criminal background check in order to win. It’s a contest, not a job application or a mortgage loan. I mean, felons can’t have nice furniture? LOL!

I always love your ideas and tips! Thanks! We have my mother-in-law’s old brown leather couch that has cat scratches all over it! It’s awful! Hopefully a new couch is in our near future :) My blog has all kinds of around-the-house stuff and DIY projects too if anyone wants to check it out:

PS, can I please have your hair? Lol! Can you do a post on how you get those tresses without being TOO curly? Thanks!

This is such a beautiful piece! I can’t believe that it turned out so beautiful and classy, even though it’s been through so much! I especially love the color. A few years ago when my grandma died, my mom and I had to decide what to do with all her furniture. A lot of it we gave away to neighbors and other family members, but my grandma had this heavy wardrobe set, and no one wanted it. It was just so old and heavy, and there were a million dings and knicks in it. We ended up throwing it away. I wish there was a way we could have restored it though. It could have been beautiful!
