Eco Chic: Go Green With Me

Earlier this year, I made some “green” resolutions. And I am pleased to say that I have stuck with them. Personally, I am a firm believer that awareness breeds change and since Earth Day is coming up on April 22nd, I figured now is a great time for our community to band together and spread the word about simple ways you can live a greener lifestyle.

How are you going to lead a more eco-friendly lifestyle this month? Tell me by pledging below:

I’ll check back in with all of you later this month to see how you did!

Did you make a pledge to a greener lifestyle this month? If so, let me know what you are going to do in the comments below!

Also, be sure to sign up for updates about my collection for BlueAvocado by clicking here.

Happy (almost) Earth Day!

XO Lauren

My friends and I always love to get together to plant a tree and then we always come back to check on its growth :-) its so fun because every year we usually have at least one new friend to add to the “”friend tree”” that we plant :-)

I have been car pooling for over a year! Not only does it help the environment but it helps you save money too! It is definitely fun to car pool with people to work :) I also own close to 10 reusable bags for groceries (sometimes I need all of them if I throw a party or something). They are hard to remember since not that many people in Minnesota use them, but I remember when I was in the UK EVERYONE used them. It is just one of those things about getting in the habit!

Also, I usually drink tea rather than water but I just keep using my mug and washing it out rather than using paper cups!

I’ve been using reusable shopping bags and water bottles since I was little. I now really appreciate it because my trash doesn’t fill up so quickly! πŸ˜‰

stop being lazy and ride my bike to work instead of driving!

Yay, thanks for shedding light on this awesome holiday! When I’m not blogging about fashion, I work for The Nature Conservancy. We LOVE Earth Day! I’m planning on celebrating by attending a Picnic for the Planet: Would love others to join, too!

I’m not sure if this is consider going green, but I am only buying organic humanly raised, 100% grass-fed, and pasture raised animal products. Not only is it way better for your health, it is also way nicer for the animals. What they do to cows in the factories is just horrible.

  • Elisee prummel

Yes, I ride always on my bike to school and I have reusable water bottles!;)

It’s so easy to be eco-friendly with little tips like this ! πŸ˜‰ Challenge of the month : do the five ! It’s gonna be easy : I have no car, shops here are giving less and less plastic bags, I already use reusable bottles, and I have 10 trees that are gonna be planted with a beautyshop adherence card … The most difficult will be to remember to unplug things after I used them ^^

  • Melissa Panici

I usually always remember to unplug things when they aren’t in use.:) I love Earth Day!

  • Isabella g.

In Brazil we can only use reusable shopping bags, its not an option its a law now! And another new law to reafforest devastated areas otherwise you lose them..What ill try this month is to unplug eletronics !!

My husband and I are starting our own fruit, vegetable, and flower garden. We’re having an entire section dedicated to our strawberry patch. In the coming weeks I’ll be posting our pictures on my blog. Speaking of my blog, its my Blog-o-versary, with a giveaway!! :)

I would like to think of myself as being eco. I recycle, take my own bags to go shopping, and I aslso shop at my farmers market (buy locoal!). But I do tend to drive a lot. So I am trying to cut back on that this week.

Here in Taiwan it’s mandatory to recycle almost everything, which I think is great! My boyfriend and also only use public transport.

This month, I will reuse my shopping bag and try to use less electricity! :-)

I’ll do all those things everyday :)

I walk a lot for short journey, I use liquid soap 100% biodegradable, I recycle my rubbish, I reuse my shopping bag again and again, I use demake-up 100% biodegradable, I didn’t got chewing-gum since 3years, …

yay for going green! I have planted some flowers and have stopped using water bottles. It is insane how much money I save on the water bottle alone. I use the brita filter now.

Very refreshing post, I opted to use reusable bags and water bottles. I am also a big recycler.. I even leave a bag for people at work (we do not have recycling) to put bottles in and I take them home to recycle.

I think it’s so great that you’re trying to help raise awareness! There are so many little things all of us can do in our everyday lives. I have been a vegetarian for over ten years and was raised to recycle. Nowadays, in my own apartment, I try not to waste energy and water, I always bring my own grocery bag and have a reusable water bottle, I buy my groceries at a local farmer’s market, …

Thanks for sharing this! I really enjoy your homepage.

    Cheers from Austria :)

I have actually been on board with the green for a little while now, in fact! My wedding is on Earth Day! Not only because it is our anniversary, but to celebrate the day in Style! Our wedding is eco themed, everything from plantable favors, to requests on our website to carpool to least impact carbon footprinting. The invitations that I designed are even printed in recycled ink on recycled paper, we went all out for the cause/special day! I am also growing my own succulents, for my bouquet!!! I have really enjoyed planning and seeing everything come together, I will post pictures of my big day SOON! :))

I use reusable bottles, and bags.

Unplug electronics when not in use.

    And garden!

    Every little bit Counts!

Every summer I plant a vegetable garden so that I have my own vegetables for salads. I also always use a reusable water bottle!

I’ve been drinking out of mason jars & old spaghetti sauce jars for almost 2 years now; I cannot remember the last time I bought a plastic bottled water – what a rip off & so bad for the environment. Love the eco chic posts on this blog, Lauren! Keep it up :)

This can be hard fo rme but Im really going to try! ( :
